As I am prior service going to AIT mid August, what is the barracks situation at right now? I heard that when I get there, I'll be quarantined for roughly 14 days. But once that is done, what are prior service barracks like? Am I to be living separately from the new soldiers? And what is the roommate situation currently like? With COVID going on, will I be roomed with someone else? Multiple roommates? I'm just curious.

It all depends on the cadre and the school. Most cases I've seen, the reclass trainees are housed separately from the "new" recruits. It all depends on space availability but every place I've been the reclass guys have 2 man rooms with a shared latrine between two rooms. Typically outside of class you are discouraged from interacting with the newbies as well. When I reclassed to 14T, we had our own separate schedule. We didn't have to attend formations or do PT with the first timers. Basically as long as we showed up to class on time we were left alone.

LTC (Join to see)
SPC (Join to see) - they usually keep the reclass guys separate so the newbies don't pick up any bad habits from them. lol

My current living situation here, I share a room with another SGT and people are no longer quarantined upon arriving here unless they are symptomatic. You will live separately from the IET Soldiers. What MOS are you coming here for?

I believe you will be coming to these barracks as well, I am here for 35T though. The barracks are called Riley Barracks. You will most likely share a room with another E-4. We still do PT every morning. The barracks are awful so don't look forward to it lol. But you won't be here forever at least. If you want to know more let me know
