Barack Obama will be 57 or 58 years old when the 2020 presidential election cycle ramps up. Do you think he'll run again?

The 22nd Amendment states that no person elected president and no person to hold the office of president for more than two years is allowed to be elected more than once more. It makes no difference whether the two terms are consecutive.

PO3 Ricky Foster - The question is can Obama run for re-election the answer is no, because of the 22 Amendment, of 1951 which places limits to tow terms. While your comment was about POTUS prior to the 22 Amendment.

CPT Pedro Meza - My comment was directed to you saying no president could be elected twice. Im fully aware of the 2 term limit of the 22nd amendment. I guess I misunderstood your comment.

PO3 Ricky Foster - I quoted the 22 Amendment, and you keyed on the number 22 only, sort of what happens at a strip bar, "But Sir, she told me she loved me".

CPT Pedro Meza - Why are you choosing to insult me. You made no mention of the 22nd amendment in your original post. Your original post is completely wrong, so instead of just saying opps and moving on, you choose to try to confuse the issue then name call. I'm done with you.

He can't run for the POTUS spot again. The Constitution forbids it. The Amendment was created and blessed off on after FDR's fourth term.

Since when do rules apply to Obama? I am sure he made a executive order to let him run again. It is going to take 4 years just to read everything the king has decreed. By that time he is President again.

The 22nd Amendment precludes any president from being elected a third term, consecutive or not. The only way anyone could remain in office longer than 8 years would be in the extraordinary event that a current president became incapacitated in anyway (re: JFK -> LBJ, who served just over 9 years).
