I was told that a Sgt was getting promoted that has a drinking problem, and is getting promoted too E6 This Sgt manages to miss morning pt and other plt. activity. and lack of equipment knowledge {transferred from USMC]. Ask why isn't the other Sgt. saying something ? I was told they do not want the label "purple ???". what is purple something. Cause He might be in charge of them someday. And they fell they are better qualified and still waiting they'er turn. Is purple ??? a code word for snitch?[if that's the what it means] when it can possibly be there lives on the line?

The only color that I ever heard referred to was blue, as in a "blue falcon".

I;m retired but I understand. It basically comes down too the label or the possible of someone getting hurt if no one steps up.It's up to the individual But I don't know why you brought the USMC into this I get it, but it's in all branches.

LCpl Sandy Moran because you're a LCpl is Marine rank, so I assume you're a Marine, plus E3 isn't normally a retiree rank, your profile doesn't say retired, and you asked so it seemed relevant

Oh ok I'll have too check my profile. But I am retired as a civilian. The person in question is an Army Sgt. And my conversation was with an Army personnel just wanting to vent

LCpl Sandy Moran - Blue Falcon is an acronym for "Buddy Fu**er" in the Army - that guy that will throw you under the bus in a New York minute.

Purple often was used to refer to joint military things. The text book on joint service had a purple cover and was known as the “Purple Book”. Hence purple came to be the same as joint service. SM could get a Purple assignment or be accused of being too purple (not representing their Service’s positions on an issue).

Nothing derogatory about purple that I know of in the military.
The LCpl also said the new "E6" may be in charge so one can infer that they are working in a "Joint" command.
From reading the post it sounds like the individual is now in the Army since LCpl stated they transferred from the USMC. The abbreviation for an Army sergeant is SGT and the Marine abbreviation is Sgt... hence the confusion.
The LCpl is "at Retired" so without any further information I can't say with 100% certainty which command they are referring to.

SGT.or Sgt is the same rank since there both E5 and since he transfered I would be talking about the Army. And I made a error it's called blue like blue falcon
