Some military movies got overlooked in the recognition department. I liked "The Siege of Firebase Gloria"-just because R. Lee Ermey rocked it with his one-liners! What other less-known tasty military nuggets are out there, possibly undiscovered?

I'm going to go out on a limb... I'm really crossing my fingers here... I list this movie only because I, personally, don't ever hear about it... I've seen it one time and remember liking it.. Tears of the Sun with Bruce Willis.

Good movie, but it came off as a plot re-hash of "The Wild Geese".....

I like "Flyboys". Not a whole lot of WWI movies out there and this one is fairly entertaining.

Definitely a classic, Sgt Michael Kieloch, even if the scene with the troops singing "Men of Harlech" just before the initial Zulu attack was totally fictitious (there were no Welshmen at Rorke's Drift).

Moved 2 weeks ago. I blame you 100%...lol. It was a case of "Happy Wife Happy Life." We live dead center of all her Japanese speaking friends from the Japanese association she travelled to see every week.

"Casualties of War". I consider it to be the best war film I've ever seen, next to Saving Private Ryan. It's also based on a real story (google Incident on Hill 192). Brian de Palma (the director) does an incredible job of immersing you into the horror and graphic nature of war in this film.

I always loved an Officer and a Gentlemen. Here is one of my favorite clips from the film. Richard Gere gave the best/worst acting ever in this scene.

Capt Rob Newton, I made comparison based on how often war movies are shown on cable as compared to the more well known. Yes it is a classic, totally agree but during the Memorial/Veterans day weekend when some stations show 'war movies', it usually is not shown.
