UK intelligence officers and the SAS are sharing information with the Americans in a bid to find the ISIS executioner.
The Brit assassin is wanted for the videoed murders of at least seven western hostages.
The hit squad has carried out several drone strikes on key members of the terror network including one last month that killed Birmingham computer hacker Junaid Hussain – the second most wanted Brit after Jihadi John – real name Mohammed Emwazi.
The US Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC) uses unmanned aircraft to make targeted strikes.
If Emwazi is traced he will either be attacked by drone or an elite task force team comprising Navy Seals, Marines and US Army Special Forces soldiers, which is on standby in the Middle East.
A squadron of SAS soldiers has been embedded with Kurdish forces fighting ISIS militants in Iraq.
The Kurdish soldiers have proved a vital source of information on jihadists operating across the border in Syria.
Last month footage emerged showing Emwazi vowing to return to Britain and continue his terror spree.
In the chilling one-minute video, he turns to the camera and warns: "I will carry on cutting heads."
And sources have revealed Emwazi plans to return to Britain with ISIS' leader to behead non-believers.
The clip was reportedly filmed on a mobile phone earlier this summer in Deir Ezzor, a Syrian town held by ISIS.
An insider told the Mail: "He looks at the camera and says, "I am Mohammed Emwazi. I will soon go back to Britain with the Khalifa' [the leader of Islamic State]."
"He said something more about cutting heads off, 'We will kill the kuffar' [non-believers].
"Then the camera shows two masked men that looked like bodyguards."
ISIS' deputy commander in Iraq has already been taken out by an elite special forces team.
The eight-man SAS squad tracked the jihadi fanatic for days before calling in an air strike.
Fadhil Ahmad al-Hayali was one of Islamic State's most senior officials and used to be a colonel in Saddam Hussein's Army.
He was number two to ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi and was responsible for moving weapons, explosives, vehicles and people between Iraq and Syria.
Last month, the Daily Star Sunday told how an SAS sniper saved a father and son after killing a terrorist who was about to execute them.

This is great news. Hopefully Jihadi John – real name Mohammed Emwazi is going to be taken out very soon after he gives up whatever information can be gleaned from him, his network and whatever devices he has been using. It would be great if he were captured alive and interrogated prior to his capture being made public.

SSgt Alex Robinson, SFC James Sczymanski, as you wish. Good hunting brings home the meat, and that is also a happy result. Happy hurting is also a good thing in this case. Just so that his career is cut short - by about a foot.
