With the start of this year's rugby season just under way who is still playing, coaching or cheering out at the pitch. Just curious what clubs are represented here on RP. With you on the inside.

I have played mostly prop (either side), some hook, flank, full back, and one stint with a Samoan team as a winger (smallest guy on pitch). I started playing in the late 90's, restarted full playing in '02. If you need teams, let's just say I play for whoever needs me. Flower, its a thistle.

Started playing D1 for Sacramento State in College as Flanker and oddly enough being the gent lifted for lineouts. Our conference was stacked with Stanford, Cal, St. Mary's, Chico, Davis, Reno. Every Saturday was a meat grinder. Went to my first duty station and played in the Antelope Valley in California with some fellow officers who played for the Academy.
It was funny because my buddy who was fly half for academy got put to lock and I got put to Fly half, what a great turn of events! We ended up doing a lot of the on-field coaching.

Came to DC and tried my hand at D1 with the NoVa men's club out here...it was not my type of program. I now coach for George Washington University and we're looking forward to going to nationals.

Flower? Hands down the starfighter lily

Excellent Sir. Wow fly half to lock - some rugby magic. Flanker to fly half seems possible.

You should have seen his face when the coach said "alright I'm gonna need you here..."

He looked right at me with his eyes that showed all those hard years at academy rugby at fly...flushed, to lock

Here I was just gingerly doing kicks before practice and that's how and why the coach picked me to fly...always on parade

I didn’t start playing until I was 30 and played hooker until a neck injury. After that I played prop for a few years. I don’t get out as often now (in my mid 40’s) but when I do I try to keep it on the second row. The pack rules the pitch!

Outstanding - my days on the pitch are done. Had to hang the boots up as I broke my damn hip and will be getting it replaced soon. Yes a good rucking pack that can play some hard nose slow ball makes the game easier for all.
