The fact that while Epstein's Foreign Intelligence Operation has been "closed down" officially. The fact that other Foreign Intelligence Agencies have Agent Provocateurs effectively harming National Security because of Adultery or Blackmail is why we need to change the laws to adapt to the change of society norms.

Then again if we look at Germany's use of Economics to have a healthy and happy society the acceptance of Adultery as a phase of marriage issues that exist when the relationship has a poor support network to prevent it. I partly blame "Deployment Widows" as an issue as well. Since it's existed forever and that if we have more honest communication and respect for both partners there's a less likelihood of "cheating" or Adultery to begin with. While there's also Economic Issues that we don't provide proper financial resources and support for folks to avoid seeking outside comfort. Then again Germany and Scandinavian also decriminalized and legalized prostitution to help with ending Adultery issues since part of the problem was the women would engage in this as a way to make ends meet economically in the 80s and 90s.

UCMJ Article 134 covers Adultery. It was used often when women serving on big Navy ships ramped up (statistically). I only "heard" what those Captain's Masts were like. I do know at least 5 senior enlisted were removed from the ship over a particular incident in Hong Kong and the Captain appeared to hold that since the sailors were ALL married that they would be getting the max shaft.(the maximum punishment according to Article 134 (Adultery) is a Dishonorable Discharge, forfeiture of all pay and allowances, and confinement for one year.) I don't know if the confinement happened or how that was ever handed down. Suffice to say, explaining to your family that you can no longer pay the bills because you were caught committing adultery should be life changing.
