Can I be denied receiving a 'Go' for a promotion board if I accidentally use gender pronouns? Should I get the IG involved?

I recently just attended the E-5 promotion board and absolutely nailed it. Uniform, confidence, presence was on point. Answered questions correctly and to the best of my ability. Walked out of the board feeling like a million bucks. I am waiting for my sponsor to come out, and he says I received a 'No-Go' because on the first question I was asked I referred to a soldier as "he should" instead of "the soldier should." This apparently was the decision that prevented me from being promotable according to my sponsor, despite answering the other 9 questions I was asked to a T.
Is there anything on Army regulation about this? Should I get the IG involved? What if this belief is against my religion and I don't agree with it? I know the SGM has a transgender kid. I do not want to cave to using these terms if it does not align with my beliefs. I know the worlds' headed in this direction but this seems absolutely insane to me that despite acing a board, I can be prevented from promoting due to using gender pronouns. What

This seems like a thing very specific to the composition of this board. I think this has less to do with transgender policy and more to do with a position of this particular board and their feeling that there are no men or women soldiers. There are just soldiers. You could certainly file an IG complaint if you feel that sort of thing goes too far. The IG may disagree.

I had male and female MP's. I referred to them as him, or her, as appropriate. Were I asked that question in a board, I'd have stated something like, "I would talk to him or her, and..." Of course, even "back when," replying, "I would talk to the soldier, and ..." would have been fine.
Would the answer he gave be less objective if his subordinate soldiers were all male? It would be a perfectly natural response in that case.

Well I say F what gov is trying to shove down our throats. There ARE ONLY HE or SHE and if u are XY u are He and XX IS she. What u are IS NOT fluid and goes against ALL science. ANYONE that would vote no go on this should be thrown in Leavenworth forever, PERIOD.

It is only my opinion.... I do not feel that veterans should be allowed to post on this site while using (Anonymous) for a name. If your opinion is meaningfull it should not be presented unless you are open and forthright in identification of yourself.

I believe with each generation the values of society change and though we disagree with those vlaues and the Military should make it clear to soldiers that this policy has changed, you will have to go with their findings. As with anything else in the military, if you feel you will need to bring it up, I will start with the chain of command who will be able to tell you if there is a regulation change you need to be aware of. I see this as a failure of the leadership to communicate the change. The Board members should have addressed this to you specifically after the results.

At the VA this week and heard that trans folks get a 100% service connected rating. Uh, what? I'm fighting them taking away a 10% award for diagnosed asbestosis. WTAF? Grrrr!
