I wish you the best, but tons of military members get hustled and told it's their faults. Is it right of course not, but the Army loves their actual slogan "Per the needs of the Army"... Sad actually.

Say "Oops! I changed my mind." Sounds like to Army way. Just kidding brother, I know this is a serious issue and don't mean to poke fun at you. Good Luck, Since it is your life can the Army not accommodate you occupational choice assuming you have adequate qualifications. When I was in I had 3 different MOSs but that was 50 years ago and everyone was basically 11B anyway.

Ultimately yes it’s your responsibility. However a good not even great BN career counselor is also responsible to ensure everything is explained correctly and thoroughly and no questions are still left before raising your right hand.

Eh hemm... "But sir... They didnt teach me contract law in highschool... Im not reaponsible for signing that legal document........"

Need I say more?
I knew what I was getting into when I joined the army. I also knew I wasnt getting everything I should. I didnt like it, but I knew.

If a 19 year old ignorant male from roseburg oregon can figure it out, anyone can. Otherwise they shouldnt be signing things without an intermediary. Which, btw, precludes them fromilitary service as they cant think for themselves, let alone think before they act.
I dont know about anyone else, but I wouldnt want to serve with anyone incapable of self motivation, self thought, etc.

Boils down to weak links in a chain. Intellect, physical fitness, esucation, rationale.... It all is needed for strong chains of readiness and unit cohesion.

As every soldier, marine, airman it sailor knows from day one...the needs of your particular branch always comes first. You are government property for as long as you are "in" and they will do with you whatever they want.

Simple answer. Talk to your S1. If you’re supposed to remain so you can drop a school packet, they can help get it fixed.

If, however, your paperwork doesn’t state that, then there is nothing they can do, and there’s no one to blame but yourself for not making sure, SGT.
