I got an NJP on February 5th 2019 and I was reduced in rank. I looked into the Army reserves and they requested a copy of my admin paperwork from the Navy. The recruiter just called me and said that my NJP paperwork was nowhere to be found. They can see a reduction in rank and the date, but no reason is listed whatsoever. I am unsure what to do or if I should do anything about this. Can I get my rank back if the paperwork is lost even though they can see I was reduced in grade? Does this mean my NJP technically didn't occur?

The NJP happened and recruiting command needs to see what it was for in order to determine whether or not to give you a waiver. If you can't find the paperwork then the worst possible scenario is assumed and you won't be granted a waiver.

NJP is not kept. If you re-enlist you can earn your rank back the same as everyone else through time in grade. THe NJP occurred, you lost your rank, how it is not something that follows you from command to command. It is gone. Period. The Army either accepts that or needs a waiver.
