The main bold text is my question. I don't want to be called stolen valor or be told its disrespectful to wear a USMC logo patch. Couldn't find anything, so I'm asking here. As of now, I'm civilian, but I plan on going into the USMC after high school.

As a Marine I don't care as long as the following applies:

Don't wear the uniform items in a way that people would mistakenly believe you are an active duty or former Marine.

Don't pass yourself off as a Marine.

Most young adults engage in some "jack ass" behavior. It is part of growing up. (I was the King of "Jack Ass" behavior in high school) Please don't do any "Jack ass" behavior that would get you brought home by the cops while you are sporting any military services apparel, patches, insignia, etc.

Id never say I'm a soldier or vet or anything. I can't stand people who do when they're not. Thank you for your response

I think that you are fine. Just don't pretend that you're a marine and if someone asks you, tell them the truth. As for why you'd want to wear the logo, I don't know. Have fun with your air soft.

I want to wear a USMC patch cause of a few reasons. It's going right under my thin red line flag patch on my uniform

Absolutely you can. It is just a USMC patch. If anyone asks just tell them you plan on joining the Marines. There is no stolen valot in that. Good luck in the future and I hope this helps.

I'll put it this way, it's a free country, you can where what you want. You'll get queried, when you do and your response is, "I'm going to enlist", you're gonna be met with a degree of scepticism, quite likely outright anger. The thing is this, the Eagle, Globe, and Anchor is not a logo, it is symbol representing 247 years of service to our country, in peace and war. It is earned by the few, respected by the many, and feared by our enemies.
My best advice... enlist, graduate recruit training, wear the Eagle, Globe, and Anchor with pride

IF you haven’t graduated from high school there’s no need to be paranoid about it all you’d be saying with that patch is that you want to join the marines.

Cade Gower I second the excellent advice from Maj John Bell. I also joined right out of high school. Please let us know if you have any questions about the Marine Corps, and welcome to RallyPoint.

Yep. My truck in high school was covered in USMC stickers. I joined up thereafter.

Join nearly 2 million former and current members of the US military, just like you.
