The best advice I can give you, remembering back to when I was a SPC looking for promotion, was to not be so anxious about it. Either you will make it or you won't this time around. Focus on doing your job as well as you can, looking for opportunities and acting on those to grow your abilities, and improve your value as a soldier in other areas such as physical fitness. As an NCO what is most important is character, but commitment to the mission and growing your leadership skills is right up there. You can't control the cut score, but you can control what you do to improve yourself and how much you demand from yourself. In any case, you will feel better about yourself because you know you are doing all you can. Besides, the more you build your self in preparation for a future leadership role, the better prepared you are to lead when you find yourself in that role. The time to prepare is now, not then. I trust you are already doing that, but put the emphasis on the process and the result will shake out in the end.
