The Delayed Entry Program also counts for time in service, but not for pay purposes.

Yes, IRR time is counted in longevity but doesn't count towards retired pay ie My time in uniform was 22 years but add IRR time it adds up to 37 years but only the 22 counts toward retired pay.

When did the Military start requiring am 8 year obligation?? I served, from 02/1965 to 02/1968, Active Duty, was transferred to Inactive Reserve Duty from 02/1968 to 02/1971, then was discharged!! 6 Years total!! Total obligation then was only 6 Years??!!??!
