Heading to Drill Sergeant School in a few months, my ERB says I’m going to Fort Benning after, I’m a 91B can I do BCT there with Armor or Infantry? Wasn’t sure if support MOS can be Drills for OSUT.

You won't train OSUT, you will go to the 194th AR BDE. They have 2 BCT battalions there, 1-46 and 2-47. I just left the trail from 1-46, great place. Good luck!

Just finished Drill duty here at Benning last month. The only non-infantry/armor/scout Drills that work is the mos specific OSUTs are the new female Drill Sgts. They however, do have to cross train in the MOS they are training in order to be proficient at teaching whichever OSUT they are assigned to. 198th Infantry Bde has all the 11 series OSUTs. 194th Armor Bde has 2 Basic Training Battalions (2/47 and 1/46) and 2 OSUT Battalions. 5/15 is the Cav Scout OSUT Battalion and 1/81 is the Tanker OSUT. 194th is in the process of standing up an additional Cav Scout Battalion. As a 91B, you will more than likely go to either 2/47 or 1/46 infantry Battalions and do BCT only. Both are great Battalions with excellent leadership. Good luck and enjoy Sand Hill!

You would be going to one of the Basic Training Units here not OSUT....it would be nice for that change to happen though

Each DS unit has line codes for various MOS's ..Diversity can be a good thing, but not always.
End of the day, while personal experience and MOS qualification can help as a DS greatly.., the bottom line is you are not teaching what you know, you are teaching what you're told to teach, and it is literally by the numbers. Regardless of MOS, you are expected to become an SME for the POI you are handed...
If you have not been assigned an M4 as a personal weapon, too bad, best learn.
Last did SD tactics in basic training, to get your learn on.

They’re now sending female Drill Sergeants to support OSUT training due to the inclusion of female trainees into combat arms, so I don’t know why not. Not sure if they are receiving additional training to support the Infantry BCT mission or not.
The difference between OSUT and BCT of course being you complete the “AIT” portion of your training immediately following the completion of the basic portion, in the same unit and location. Of course because the combat arms MOS were not previously open to females in the force, not sure how female Drill Sergeants gain the expertise to teach Infantry tactics during that portion of OSUT training, unless it’s by OJT.

I wasn’t exactly sure how OSUT worked as I didn’t do it, I figured I’d be doing BCT but thought I’d ask. Thanks for the input CSM!

Absolutely. As mentioned it is basic training. It is the same regardless of where you go. I was 11B when I did my trail time. I requested Benning, got Dix. Almost all the drills at Dix that I worked with were combat arms MOS’s. It really depends on where they need you.
