Question So I have a couple of injures and permanent profile and I find it extremely hard to walk each day , my knees lock up and my wife has to help me out of bed some days. I was told by a provider at EBH that you can ask for a medboard , you dont always have to wait for them to offer you one. Is that true? Before you ask, I have looked at the other forms of chapter as an option as well but this one helps set my family up the best for when I get out considering I have a kid and my wife is too injured to work. Any help would be appreciated. I'm not trying to get over on the army or get out and have fun. I'm actually upset I cant reclass like I want to cause it hurts so damn bad.

Your provider must initiate a P3 permanent profile. You must speak with your PCM

I was an AGR and got sent back to a troop unit. I went to the VA and got a rating of 50%. As it turns out over 30% requires a MEDBOARD. The USAR had ignored me for years and was forced to retire me retroactive to my seperation from AGR.

Medboards are not initiated by patients. Medical Providers make that call. You can have the conversation with your medical provider and see where it goes but there is more to it then raising your hand.
