I’m interested in transferring to a Signal unit with Space Slots but they are saying my chances of acceptance are higher if I attend the course.

You can attend the school prior to being assigned to the job.
Your chances of getting the school are much higher if you are already assigned to the job.
In the Reserve components, the requirements for the badge are the school plus 24 months in the duty position after becoming school qualified.

If i’m in a WIN-T heavy element that uses much space satellite and satcom. Will that work?

An additional question is if i’m in a 26B slot within a Space Command would I be authorized to wear the badge if attending the 3Y course?

Award of the badge requires school completion followed by at least two years (for reservists) in an MTOE position that requires a 3Y ASI.
