Can you run 1 mile right now, without stopping or having a heart attack?

I can pick up and run 8 miles at just about any time. I do not run as often as I would like, mostly due to time, but I can still break about a one hour time on the 8 mile.

It depends.. is there a sale at Nordstrom that is 1+ miles away? And will my stop point be sufficiently supplied with food? ;)
I pass my PT test every year, but I hate it. Surgical repair to three herniated discs a few years ago. Running and I are not friends anymore. But I do pass!! :)

Fortunately I'm still young and bullet-proof, so I can still conduct some hardcore PT.

I've done a 50K (31.1 miles) North Face Endurance Challenge trail run! Numerous marathons, and countless 1/2 marathons and 5K's. My profile pic is from running the Soldier Half Marathon in full kit.
I plan to do a 50 miler for my 50th birthday, and I'll be marching 26.2 miles across the deserts of White Sands for the Bataan Death March in a few months.
I'm also a CrossFit coach and do CrossFit and Olympic lifting 5-6 days per week.

Pretty sure everyone should be able to run a mile without stopping. If not... Go ahead and take the uniform off.

I ran 1.75 miles this morning, albeit a very slow pace. But I'm working on a faster and longer pace.

I was walking and got up to 9 to 10 miles. As my knees got stronger I started running short bursts. I want to start running 5k's next year. We'll see.

I can do a few. I did a 10 miler last month. I got another 10 miler coming up and a half marathon three days after. I would run more but I am stuck on a tiny base.
I am currently sitting at the third highest PT score in my platoon. My goal is to be the top. I have many more years on me and a lot of miles but that is never an excuse to lead from anywhere but the front.

Just put in 5 miles this morning, in a brisk 28 degrees. I expect my Soldiers to always be ready, so I will never falter in my readiness either.

Expectations are high, training is hard. It's gonna hurt...but you will be ready. Famous last words of a great officer.
