Being a member of the NG, can you use State tuition reimbursement while activated federally? I am going to going to an undisclosed location with some free time and I am registered to start taking online college. Currently my FASFA won't cover $300 and the FTA site is down, so is it still possible to use STR

Check with your education office. Guard Tuition Reimbursement varies from State to State. Not all of them offer it and some offer it only to State funded colleges.

I will take this opportunity to tell all veterans to look up state educational benefits. Some of the benefits are outstanding, others not at all. Google can be a powerful friend.

Check with your state education office. These type of NG benefits vary by state. I know that Illinois provides two types of benefits:
1. Illinois Veterans Grant - Available to any resident that serves in the military.
2. Illinois Guard Grant - Available to members of the National Guard.
For ILNG members, it doesn't matter if you are on a title 10 order, you already earned the benefit by being a National Guardsman.
