I would say yes, as it is not an authorized uniform article

I'm going to say yes since a compression sleeve can be viewed as a medical device.

Well that's what I'm saying 1SG (Join to see) , since normally items such as compression sleeves are not allowed, if SSG (Join to see) would like to wear one, he would probably need a profile stating that his doctor needs him to wear it based on a physical injury.

Now, if I can find some white compression socks without logos...
OTOH, I've seen the 82nd Airborne Division HHC commander wearing compression sleeves right in front of the DCSM, and the CSM didn't say anything. An (aside from the Old Guard), there's nobody more uniform-Nazi than the 82nd Airplane Gang.
I've also seen a soldier wearing compression sleeves right in front of the ARCIC CSM (now employed as a troubleshooter for SMA Dailey), and he didn't say anything either.

Absolutely anything that is added while in uniform must be documented on a profile. So it's as easy as asking you primary care provider to give you a profile for it and you will be ok.

Not necessarily true. My PCM can give me a profile saying that I have to wear pink shoes, but my commander does not have to honor that profile. You have to remember that a profile is a recommendation to a commander from the medical professional.

MSG Martin C.
MSG, you are absolutely right. The commander can dictate that however the question on this topic was in the regard of a Soldier just wearing such item on it's own and that's a big no-no. The right thing to do is to getting it prescribed by the medical staff and documented. As far as a commander going against medical personnel I never seen it mainly because Captain rank don't equate to MD. It's just like the good old malingering chapter I have never seen anyone chapter for such offense since it's so hard to prove kind like back pain most guys getting out claim that because it's impossible to prove a person has no such pain.
