Which do you prefer? Why?
Which one do you think will finally put Nintendo out of business, or do you think a roaring comeback is on the horizon?
As an avid Microsoft supporter, Xbox is my console of choice. It is great for my household, the advancements in motion-capture and voice commands, and once the library starts building it'll be unstoppable.

XBOX One for the win. I do know PC is better. But the detail these days is cray cray...lol
When I am playing Mortal Kombat X and it starts raining, you can see the clothes starting to get wet as water droplets hit it....Crazy good.

I voted Xbox, but only because it is my primary system right now. I have a Magnavox Odyssey, NES, SNES, N64, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PC, and have my feelers out for a Sega Genesis and Wii and possibly a PS and PS2 and 3 if the funding becomes available. I don't favor one system over the others, for the most part; the Xbox has most of my friends on it, so it gets the play time. Not a fan of the more recent Playstation consoles because I dislike the controllers and the network gets hacked every couple weeks, it seems...but it's still a good system and I'd like to get one eventually, if only for the PS exclusive games. I still love my computer, even if I never play on it anymore due to it being a laptop since I have no place to put an actual computer in my house.
Then again, I run my VGI (Video Gamers Incorporated) Facebook group, so I cannot afford to be a console specific snob; so long as you are playing a game, you are a gamer, and I approve of your decision to play.

I'm going to vote Wii, but only because of the old classic Nintendo games available on it. I've grown tired of all "games" looking down the sights of a gun. The latest generation seems to suffer from a lack of creativity. I will not be participating in the latest generation of systems and instead have invested in fishing rods, rifles, bicycles, and a garden. I'm such an old man now...

I agree whole-heartedly. I hate First Person Shooter games, including Call of Duty and all those games.

I don't view Battlecall: Field of Duty as games anymore. FPS used to be ok, back when there was something else to play sometimes. I do like Fallout and Elder Scrolls though, but mostly due to the RPG elements.

I went with PS4. Yes, PC gamers, we know you can have a greater gaming machine with more modern graphics processing than a gaming console. As far as consoles, I believe PS4 is hands down superior. I played the XBONE and all it did was frustrate me. Everytime the Xbox finds out that there's an update, it will not allow any play unless the update has been downloaded. The problem with that is if you're a geo-bachelor like me or single who does not yet have a barracks to live in, we don't have an easy way to get internet access to our console. As far as graphics, the PS4 can do better at rendering 1080P at full 60FPS, very smooth, very fast.
To be fair, I am frustrated about the inability of the PS4 to make my game saves portable on flash drive. I would like to carry over some of my saves to another system. I think it can be done with a Playstation Online account; but this brings me back to the inconvenience of being able to get internet to my console. I think what Sony is trying to do is work in features over time in such a way that it doesn't take away from the console performance. That's a major area Microsoft messed up on the XBONE, they tried to cram in too much in order to make it the center of everything in the living room instead on focusing on their gamer market first.

How did your XB1 find out there was an update, if there was no internet connection?

Since this is only console gaming, I prefer XBOX. Since the first one was developed nearly 15 years ago, I have been an XBOX guy. No more Sony. And I haven't had a Nintendo since the NES.

Why not all three? Aside from the obvious cost prohibitive nature of owning all three each has their own unique virtues. The XBO and PS4 are practically identical consoles from a hardware perspective, with the only real differences being exclusive games, user interface, and incorporating media in the case of XBO. The Wii U has extremely dated hardware, but alone offers unique gaming experiences via its tablet controller that you can't find anywhere else. Nintendo also has arguably the best first party IPs of any software developer, which are obviously exclusive to their own hardware.
I own all three current gen consoles, and I don't prefer one over any other. Zelda, and God willing Metroid, are worth the price of admission alone for Nintendo hardware, and as far as Microsoft or Sony go it's really just a matter of which game franchises you like more. I love Halo and games like The Last of Us, so for me the obvious solution was to get both. Others with less discretionary have to decide which console provides the best games per their own tastes.

And while I cannot argue against owning all three (aside from the price tag, of course), I have to admit that the exclusivity of certain titles do indeed make for choice in most households. Which do you care most about?
Personally, the XBone, 360 and WiiU are sitting in my entertainment stand simply because PS does not offer what I care most about. Not to mention, I have a PC, Windows Tablet and Windows Phone, so the fact that all 4 of those talk to one another is a great benefit.

I'm a Playstation guy, but not because I hate the Xbox. I have built my own PC gaming rig, so I get to play most of Microsoft's titles on that. Eventually, I may buy an Xbox One, especially now that there has been two price drops but, I have to find employment before I can justify that.
Also, Nintendo won't die. Their current problems are due to a very poor marketing campaign for the WiiU and a terrible attitude toward 3rd party developers. Many parents didn't realize the WiiU was actually a next generation system, they thought it was some kind of add on to their existing Wii. Imagine their surprise when they got to their local Game Stop and saw the price?
With new leadership at Nintendo, I think you'll see better marketing and a desire to work with 3rd party developers. Nintendo may never have the stranglehold it once had on the market, but it isn't going anywhere either.

Nintendo is making positive steps to stay competitive, for sure. If you haven't heard already, look into the Amiibos. They seem like they would be kind of fun to use.
However, I think they need to look into expanding into a new market. Portable gaming is now smart phones, and I think a Nintendo Smartphone should be the next thing on Nintendo's "to do" list.

I'm familiar with the Amibos. I work at my local GameStop 4 hours per week. I do it just for the discount. :)
While intriguing, they would have to be careful to launch any smartphone in a way they wouldn't alienate the 45.7 million 3DS users out there.

Neither of those statements are true. Xbox hasn't been graphically superior since gen 1, and PSN is no longer free on current gen PS4.

I love my Xbox one. The graphics are amazing and I love the party and gaming function with other fellow gamers. Plus I am now currently addicted to Destiny.
