Crazy or corrupt? Which is the lesser of the two evils?

One has managed to sabotage his own campaign through silly antics and boorish behavior. The other continues to have her scandals unravel into an obvious pattern of political corruptness that far exceeds anything seen before with a presidential candidate. Can Trump win back the dissenting Republicans, and will the Clinton Foundation scandals make a difference to minority voters? I say its possible.

The real question is which is the greater evil. In my mind the nominees to the SCOTUS will have the longest range consequences for our nation; if the court is packed with liberals that substitute their own feelings and ideology for the Constitution it will do serious damage to our Constitutional form of government that will last for decades and will perhaps be irreversible regardless of who is elected next.

Shocker! Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg Insults U.S. Constitution
On a recent trip to Egypt, Ruth Bader Ginsburg trashed our Constitution and stated, "I would not look to the U.S. Constitution if I were drafting a constitut...
SSG (Join to see), no, conservatives follow the original intent of the Constitution, they don't impose their opinions of what it SHOULD have said.

Let's say that is true. Say conservatives follow the original intent of the Constitution, a document written in the 18th century, for an 18th century society. We have evolved since then, and our laws - and our interpretation of them! - should as well. That's why there have been over a dozen new amendments made to it since the original Constitution was written.

SSG (Join to see), the fundamental human nature has not changed over the past two centuries; power still tends to corrupt and absolute power tends to corrupt absolutely.
This is the reason the framers of our Constitution devised our form of divided government with three co-equal branches so that a strong leader would not become a dictator; power grabs would always be opposed two against one. This is the only way to protect the freedoms of the individual against the coercive powers of government.
Unfortunately, the Constitution is not worth the paper it is printed on if the people do not hold their elected representatives accountable for following it.
When the people do not know our Constitution and insist that their government respects the limitations it puts on the leaders powers our nation will degenerate back into a dictatorship.
Today a liberal court would cut the Constitutional restraints that bind the leaders' hands as they substitute their feelings and their ideology for the law.
"The following quote attributed to Scottish history professor Alexander Tyler in 1787, seems to portray an accurate reflection of what has occurred during our 200+ years of existence as a democracy.
‘A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship.’
‘The average age of the world’s greatest civilizations from the beginning of history, has been about 200 years. During those 200 years, these nations always progressed through the following sequence:
◾From bondage to spiritual faith;
◾From spiritual faith to great courage;
◾From courage to liberty;
◾From liberty to abundance;
◾From abundance to complacency;
◾From complacency to apathy;
◾From apathy to dependence;
◾From dependence back into bondage'."

The Tytler Cycle Revisited | Common Sense Government
In 2003 I became very interested in a theory developed by Scottish historian Alexander Tytler, and wrote an article on it at the time, which ironically enough is now getting a lot of attention due to being linked to from Wikipedia.

This reminds me of a story about a man who had a flat tire while driving in the rain to a banquet where he was to deliver an important speech. It happened in a time before cell phones and he was forced to exit his car in the rain while dressed in his formal attire to change the tire himself. He placed the lug nuts in the hub cap (Google "hub cap" if you're not sure what it is). When he pulled the tire off the hub, he accidentally dropped it on the lip of the hub cap and the lug nuts were flipped into a muddy ditch and he couldn't find them. As he wondered what to do a voice called to him "Hey!" Looking up he saw a man watching him from the other side of a fence surrounding an insane asylum. "Take one lug nut off each of the other wheels and use them to attach the spare," he suggested. Brilliant, the man thought, and he did it. He thanked the inmate for the suggestion. "That was really smart. Why are you in there?", he asked pointing to the asylum. "I'm nuts, not stupid," the inmate replied. Well, Trump may act nuts but he sure as hell isn't stupid. He was smart enough to gauge the temper of the people. Hillary and her camp have had no defense other than to create a false narrative around his words and actions in an attempt to make him appear as a bad choice for President.

That is a good one, the first time I heard it, I climbed off of my dinosaur.

CPT Jack Durish He's not acting crazy. Democrats aren't creating a false narrative. I've seen his speeches and interviews--in context. He really is a dangerous madman.

Capt Michael Greene - We perceive everything through the filter of our own prejudices. While our perceptions of Trump may disagree, there is no mistaking the criminality of Hillary.

SFC J Fullerton For me, Trump didn't lose favor by his boorish behavior. He knows nothing of the Constitution or the values of our nation and doesn't care. He has a serious narcissism that prevents him from caring about others. His narcissism makes him an easy target--he can be easily distracted for days by a simple insult. The people who have worked most closely with him--who are not paid by him--say he has ZERO attention span and a sociopathic disinterest in the welfare of others. He could nuke the world as easily as ordering a latte.
Clinton is pretty much the same as the politicians we've usually had. The reason the Republicans have been committing all their time and millions of taxpayer dollars into finding her scandals pre-election instead of later is because the GOP knew since 2013 that they desperately needed to discredit her. They knew all their potential candidates were way out of touch with most of the voters, thanks to the Tea Party leading the party to the far right. Even Reagan wasn't this far right.
Now Trump is bringing the ALT-RIGHT into power with him. White nationalism is loving it.
Putin is really getting everything he wants now that Trump is a viable candidate.

SP5 Christine Conley - Christine there is a trail, what's left of it anyways after all the email deletions. That is what has been coming out this week. Are you going to turn a blind eye to what is happening now because of something 30 years ago with someone else? I am no fan of Trump. But corruption is another issue. The State Department has a lot of power with export controls, visas, etc. If there was a quid pro quo scheme going on, with "donations" to a private organization in return for actions granted under an official's authority, you don't see a problem with that?

SFC J Fullerton - You assume guilt? I don't see that. Got a source?
One other consideration. Our system only gives us two people to choose from, and one of them is seriously dangerous to the planet. I'd vote for Zombie Reagan before Trump.

Capt Michael Greene - You know the old saying about ducks. Well that applies here, and I don't own riverfront property in Egypt either. Which brings us back to the original question, crazy or corrupt? Obviously some people not concerned with the glaring appearances of impropriety, or even care if it was true because "crazy" is too unpredictable. Yes, the source is the report by the Associated Press that was released earlier this week.
