Well stated. In theory, this should silence the naysayers.

It should. It won't though.

The people who are vehemently opposed to this (some misogynist, and some VERY much not) won't be placated by any responses. Some will come around in time, some never will.

The article however is a very good read, and I encourage any of those who feel special treatment was given to read the responses.

Congratulations to the new Rangers. I am particularly proud that one is assigned to the Military Police battalion I commanded during Desert Storm. Rangers (and Military Police) lead the way.

I read this earlier before seeing it on RP and it made me think of something. Do we as veterans and service members have so little faith in the integrity of our fellow service members that they would not uphold the standard at the finest leadership school in the US military?

I don't think the naysayers studied theory. Matter of fact, I'm willing to bet that at least one of them is typing away right now on how this was done at Obama's direct orders to start the coverup.

It only silences the part of their actual performance during the course. The part it doesn't silence is that the 100 women originally selected for this test run got an excessive amount of preparation to attend the course. Of those, only 19 were selected to attend Ranger School and only 2 graduated with a 3rd still floating around somewhere between mountains and Florida with no official word on her status.

The real bottom line is that too many resources were expended to get only 2 of 100 women who were specially selected for this program to graduate. If the same assets were devoted to their male peers, the Army would have had more Ranger qualified soldiers to fill the ranks.

We all know what opinions are. To make a claim that “too many resources were expended…” with no reference of evidence that could examined and refuted is NOTHING BUT CONJECTURE. You FAILED to make any form of convincing argument on the second point as well. Why not address the Mean failure / recycle rates and compare them against any number of factors of students such Officers vs NCOs vs junior enlisted personnel? If you had, you’d recognize that the gender “bias” wasn’t a factor in recycle rates. You assume that the assets were diverted and quotas/billets lost because a 19 women were admitted to Ranger class 06-15. Going back to your second point 2 of 19 completing the course falls within the Ranger school graduation range. The Army got two Ranger Qualified company commanders. I am STILL LMAO and ROFL over your misogynistic comment.

MAJ Keira Brennan - You are by far more of a militant feminist than I am misogynist. If you want me to break down the numbers for you in detail I will. That 10.5% of the 19 women who graduated is nowhere near the 48% overall historical graduation rate for Ranger School. 100% of female Ranger students recycled versus the 34% of their male counterparts who were recycled at least once and every female Ranger student recycled twice. The overall graduation rate for the program was just 2% of the 100 women selected to attend the Pre-Ranger Course. 0% of female enlisted Ranger students graduated the course.

The overall attrition rate combined with the fact that each of the 100 original candidates were specially selected and screened for the program clearly shows that the return is not worth the investment. Many of their male counterparts are not specially selected or even attend a Pre-Ranger course. This is especially true for Infantry and Armor 2LTs fresh out of their basic courses who are thrown en mass into the course.

white noise... Its a done deal. Door is open and there you go. Arguing ex post facto is about as useful as the slippery slope.
