Sgm crump
So I was perusing Army Times and saw this little Gem:

http://www.armytimes.com/article/20110309/NEWS/103090328/Ex-Walter-Reed-CSM-sentenced-to-6-months

From the article:

Some of the offenses admitted by Crump include wearing six awards and decorations from March to December of 2009, including the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal with Arrowhead device, which indicates — contrary to military records — that he made a combat jump into Grenada. He admitted he wore a U.S. Navy Achievement Medal without authority since 2006 and, on three occasions, two or three unauthorized overseas service bars.

Do you think that the CSM was fined too harshly, just right, or not enough?

I will reserve my comments for now.

Some of you guys judge in such a manner as if you walk on water. Hey this guy wore the wrong dang metal and received confinement for 6 months. I think you all need to attend an actual Court Martial trial with an accused child pornographer or rapist with an abundance of evidence convicting that individual of those crimes. Guess what you so upright responders, not all but some receive 3 months sentencing. So for this CSM receiving that type of harsh punishment for wearing a medal is way beyond extreme.

Look at BG Sinclair you all was taught in basic trainig that adultery is a NO-GO in the Army since you've entered. This guy goes home, be open minded and stop judging b/c the person who reads your response will favor you.

1SG Don Stand With all due respect your wrong. A senior leader should be and is held to a higher standard. He didn't wear one award one time, he wore several on different occasions. Would your opinion be the same if it were a Silver Star? We are held to a standard and we are expected to lead by example or we are derelict in our duty and a failure to our soldiers. I will not comment on the whole sexual assault, child molesters getting 3 months. I personally don't believe that happened in a court martial. Civilian court maybe. Stolen Valor is very serious and extremely damaging to morale. I am sorry but he deserves an other than honorable discharge and loss of pension. He disgraced the uniform and dishonored every single soldier. Makes me wanna puke. In the 80's he would have been fried for it. I am glad I am retired because I wouldn't follow him into a 7 eleven let alone a war.

Did he wear the medals out of mistake? I don't think so. He is a seasoned NCO and knows exactly what he was doing.

Good nesss,, I got extra duty because I had a bronze star with a "V" placed incorrect on my medals bar... he should have his retiremnet reduced as well , because it tosses a shadow on his entire career, if he did this as a CSM.. how much deciet did he use to get promoted over his service time?

Myself and a fellow soldier were recommended for the Soldier's Medal for running into a burning building and for being the first responders. When the award came across his desk he rejected it and said it should be an ARCOM with V device. My entire command was just shocked and couldn't believe what he said. 4 months later this happened.

Is it not bad enough we have civilians who pose as military that our own family has to disgrace us with what he knows to be wrong?

Oh crap! Never thought of that, even though us Bucks run the companies and report to the upper ranks, we would get screwed.

I think he should have been demoted and retired. As digusting as what he did was, I don't think he needed to go to jail for it. He should've been dmeoted to E-5 for what he did and had his rank stripped in front of his unit and he should've been drummed out. He forsake whatever honor he had and he should've had to look other Soldiers in the face when he was punished for that but he didn't deserve to go to jail.

I would like to know how many Pvts this guy has dressed down and ruined their careers over lighter infractions. I bet he was a hard nosed bastard and gave no leniency towards his soldiers for anything. Just guessing.
