Woke up to the direct deposit of the disability compensation being less than half of the usual amount. No emails, letters, or phone calls of explanations. Of course the VA representative chat room and call center is not working.

Mark,

I called my SVC OFC in Louisville but he had left for the day. I spoke with Liberty about your experience ( did NOT mention a name) and she said she was unaware of any wholesale changes. You can call [login to see] and talk to her. She should be able to see your file. I sure hope so, that sucks!

Good Luck.

This very same thing happened to a young Iraqi bet that I am mentoring. He was 100% related to being blown up, shot and PTSD but wasn't classified P&T. Two months ago is comp was cut in half. He called and tried to verify why and was told "your PTSD has improved", he inquired as to who made this diagnosis and they wouldn't tell him. All of his appointments and counseling sessions have been kept and the last eval by his Psych Dr. States that his PTSD HAS NOT IMPROVED and "likely will never improve despite medication and continued therapy". Some desk jockey pushes a key and it destroys a young vets life. I'm walking him through everything to get it back to where it's supposed to be and have discussed with his complete health care team on documenting that his condition is "permanent and total". As an RN and a P&T rated vet myself I'm appalled at how they are treating this young man. He has done everything he is supposed to be doing and has maintained every appointment.

Yes, me too. This young man was blown up by a roadside IED, shot twice and has a terrible time with PTSD, has to go out into the woods during fourth of July celebrations because the noise sets him off. He's done everything they have asked of him, attends every appointment, goes to group therapy as well as individual therapy and complies with his medication regimen and somehow they say he isn't following through. I've personally taken him to his appointments and sessions so I know for a fact he goes. This system is so stacked against the veteran who truly needs it.

Mark, I understand that this can be very difficult and is probably a financial burden as well. As a veteran with 100% disability rating the Army Emergency Relief is still available for you if the need is there.
