Don't get me started. I stumped a group of college students by asking them what year the War of 1812 began. But you ask them about Jersey Shore and they can probably tell you where Snookie does her banking.

yes, My kids became drunks, in part, watching the stupid MTV show that I called 'Jersey Whores'. I bet more people know about the Fatassisans (Kardashians) and how many times each fattie has been cheated on, lied to and by whom and how many times married/divorced than know stuff a citizen needs to know about history. I am happy to see that the Tabloids say the show is cancelled (what is a couch potato to do?) They care more about Creepy Bruce Jenner then know who their Congressperson or Senator is.

I am constantly amazed by the lack of basic knowledge in the areas of history,government and geography in the younger set, makes it very easy to beat the pants off the kids in "Trivia Pursuit", they can't believe we know this stuff without looking it up on "Google"

just like we left Iraq when there was Peace in our time with our current POTUS and where Global Warming is more dangerous than ISIS in Baghdad, Iran and North Korea with Nukes and more dangerous than Russis threatening the newest members of NATO (who were once part of the Warsaw pact) Its a screwy administration and a dangerous reality that in maybe 7 years Iran has nukes.

Unfortunately I have met people like that. Sadly a few were graduates of some so called prestigious universities. Sad how far educational standards have fallen. I met a few that couldn't name the states that border the one they live in.
