While stationed at FT Benning myself and another were in the field playing the enemy for a Ranger training class, we had m-14's with blanks so out of boredom we thought it would be cool to take out the seal in one of the rounds and fill it with more gun powder so we could fire it off and see how loud it would be. Well needless to say because we were not smart enough to take the blank adapter off before we fired the weapon, the weapon exploded and blew the bolt back with such force it sent metal fragments into my buddy's leg which hit an artery. After dust-off came and took him to the hospital (he survived) they did an investigation at which point neither of us got burned, the blame was put on the blank ammo. I'm not proud but we lied our asses off and dodged which ever article they would have slapped us with. The point is I think at one time or another each of us in the military did something to get an article charge but we just didn't get caught, hence the saying "Its only wrong if you get caught" that was my 18 yr old Army story.

i almost got one but didnt because the commander didnt have a clue how to stick me. again I was supply at the army war college in carlisle pa. when i got there the rec room had a broken tv and a broken couch and thats it so i ended up getting new carpet new tv and vcr new furniture soda and candy machines pool table foosball table and video games all at no cost to the unit and everytime the comander asked me where i got it i would just say i aquired it sir and he would tell me thats not in the military regs well he was the kind that had a book for everything on how to be a good commander and he would read them for every question so i told him look in the military dictionary he had and he did and there it was "AQUIRE" to obtain goods or property from one military organization and brought to another at no cost to the recieving unit at no cost being legal as long as it stayed within the military and not used for personal use of the aquiring party LOL he was so pissed what a dick but he got me later with the 9 mil round situation lol

in the dayroom watching the game on a weekend - made a derogatory comment about one of the teams, I didn't know it was the COs favorite team, someone told him what I said. So the CO took a personal interest in my PT tests (changing the standards ( it wasn't a push-up unless your chest hit the ground)) (I'm a tall guy with long arms) which led to my bar to re-enlist (1-B, I think) didn't want to stay in that unit any way. 30 days after ETS walked into local National Guard Armory, and stayed for the next 24 years.

Sgt. Steward Army
I was stationed in Germany outside of Nurnberg and having some beers across the street at the local Pub. The owners daughter was beautiful and we had been friends for a while, when one night after the place was empty she starts making out with me. I did not know she had been dating a specialist in another platoon who's nickname was BONE. He was a at least twice my size, I came back to the barracks around 2am and saw him there and said hey Bone what's up. He was watching outside the window of the bar and took me out with one punch knocked out cold. The next day I am called in to the first Sgts office Bone is standing at attention Top asks me what happened...I looked at him (with a huge black eye and swollen face) and Bone and said...I fell. Top looked at me and smiled and told Bone to get the hell out of his office. He later went on to be a ranger and do 3 more tours in Iraq. Top later told me if I would have pressed charges he would have never got in to ranger school.

Don't remember.ber what this Article 15 was for, damn, can't remember the kids name. He was however always in trouble. It was at Fort Stewart, summer 1999. Our company trouble maker was busted again and the COC read his punishment in front of the company at 0900 formation. After they announced being busted down to E-nothing, 1SG cut the kids skeeter wings off. Then continued on how this kid didn't deserve to wear the US Army tape. He proceeded to cut tgat off too. Immediately we heard a whole lot of What in the holy hell, what the fuck is this.... Pvt Troublemaker still had his basic training tape attached under his embroidered tapes. I thought 1SG was going to have s heart attack..

I should have gotten one. In Germany back in 77 (old Army). During field training our detachment NCO decided it would be cool to let us go into the local village and buy dinner if we wanted to. He said we could have one beer. All the guys bought the 1/2 L. mug but not me. Being the newbie, I spotted the 2 L. boot. Got $hitfaced on the strong beer and returned to camp. When cornered and questioned by the NCOIC, I could barely remember screaming "I only had one GD beer" just before I threw up on him. Instead of Article 15, I had to scrape and spot paint about 10 very rusty trucks. The other guys enjoyed the break.

Twice they tried to give me an article 15 both failed and both came after an incident that ended with me telling my flight chief that I would not make my career wearing out the knees in my bdus that sucking dick and kissing ass were for the weak and women probably would have been fine accept when I said this all the squadron sgts were in the office, 1st article 15 was for sleeping on post which was proven by a retired colonel to be wrong it was thrown out 2nd was for the same thing kind of both proven to be false both issued by the flightchief I embarrassed shortly after he was forced into retirement after 16yrs

I never received one in my 20 years, however, I will tell my father's story. Late 50's or early 60's dad was in the Air Force at Warner Robins AFB. He had just recently met my mother on a blind date. (Still together after 53 years). She was a nursing student in Macon, GA about 30 min away. Of course dad was broke and needed gas to get there, so he borrowed 5 gallons from the motorpool. Needless to say it was found out and he was busted down to E-1. To this day he says its the only time he every stole anything, but he would do it again.

1977, Fort Gordon Ga.. we were out on ready to live fire the .50 on a night range, while waiting in line for my turn, a Sgt. From a platoon attached to our company, he was not my drill or assistant drill, pulled me out of line. He told me "Trainee, I want you to guard this weapons rack, a rack of M-16A-2's. Well I was tired and sat down on the rack, yes, you guessed it, I fell to sleep. Dumb. He came by, hid a weapon off the rack, woke me, told me to count the weapons, one was missing. I was panicked. I got chewed and my first 15.
