My Son got an Article 15 for using a Vape in his barracks and setting off the smoke detector which the Fire Dept showed up.

I knew a WWII SS trooper who had defected to the Allies during the war. He was a friend of my dad and had some war stories that were amazing. As an SS trooper and a sniper to boot, when he got in trouble the German commands would just reassign him. So he got in trouble when he was caught with an officer's wife and sent to the front lines in Russia. He was supposed to be sniping Russian officers. But he said it was so cold his ammo froze. (love that one) Anyway, the Germans were freezing on one side of a river and the Russians had actual buildings put up on the other side. He and a fellow sniper saw some tanks and thought "those have heaters in them". So they snuck across the river and stole a tank and drove it back. Their platoon officer found them the next morning all snug in the tank. What did he do? Oh the German was a Sgt. The officer said "PRIVATE, TAKE THIS TANK BACK!" lol Wish I could remember the guys name. Walter something. He was a crack up.
Oh, this guy was dating his daughter later, in California. She dumped him. He kept harassing her and even threatened her with violence. Old Valter confronted him and told the kid he would shoot his balls off if he saw him within a mile of the house. The kid went to the police. The police said "this was Walter (I think Koenig) that said that? Well, believe it. He can do it." Yep. He took me shooting once and I can believe he would have shot the balls off a fly at a long distance.

Gulf War 1990, we just arrived in Saudi Arabia at the port of Dhamon. They billeted us on a barge with living quarters stacked on top of one another and nothing to do while we waited for our equipment to arrive. On the dock, lined up, were all these civilian buses just sitting there but without keys. After several days, getting restless, myself and another NCO talked our brand new platoon leader into letting us hot wire a bus and take the platoon over to Kobar towers to do some shopping.
So, we got a bus opened up and running, loaded up the entire platoon. Just as the LT and I loaded up, here came this E-5 running up, raising 7 kinds of hell, saying we were stealing his bus and that he was calling the MP's.
The MP's, our CO and the Brigade Commander all showed up. No article 15's, but letters of reprimand all around.

First, I'm not Military. Sadly my heart gave out a few too many times and all sides figured that it was for the best.
HOWEVER! My sister was Drunk(PFC), her friend was high(PFC), none of us had our ID's and I had to be snuck into Bragg as cargo in the backseat of a Mustang. I'm about 6 foot and at the time 225lbs.
They didn't get an Article 15 for this but yeah....

Mine was pretty lame compared to most of these and it was a summarized. Stationed in Hohenfels as a mechanic, they had us stay in the barracks down by the motor pool that were converted from single rooms to individual quarters, 2 up per room. Problem was, no running water, no bathroom. Public bath at the end of each run of buildings. Well, needless to say, instead of running in your shower shoes in the middle of the night to take a leak in the toilet, people either got creative, or lazy...usually the latter.
So, come spring the outsides of most of the buildings smell of old piss. This was around 1991 when the single soldier program had been put in place. Well, the only thing they could do to inspect us single guys was to pull a health and welfare inspection.
So, one morning, they surprised us at PT with a morning inspection. They found bottles of urine, they found a box of grenades and in my room, a smoke grenade and a large fixed blade bayonette that was sold at the PX.
For my part, I hadn't turned in the smoke grenade earlier because I had thoughts of setting it off for the 4th of July, but had second thoughts about it, and then wondered how I was going to turn it in anonymously without being seen walking around with it. Granted, the knife was well over the 4" allowed size, but my argument was, if the PX sells it, why can't I buy it? Didn't lose rank, but did my 15 days extra duty.
I did lose rank when I stopped going to weekend drill for the National Guard because I got sick of never doing anything that related to my MOS with the new guys that only had AIT for experience and thought we needed to do more on the weekends for readiness. I was promoted back to SPC within 6 months and even though they promised they'd have us Mechanics do more mechanic type of stuff on weekends, it never actually happened and when we were out for our 2 weeks in the field, we pretty much sat in the tent and played Spades.....does anyone ever come out of the military and not learn how to play spades?

Didn't get one, but should have...
A SPC on AT in field that I did range maintenance on for 6 months, so I knew the area well. Well, the first day we are just sitting around waiting to get unf**ked and I decide we should get some beer for the rest of AT. Take my PSgt's HMMV and drive into the closest town (again, I knew exactly where we were and how to get to the gas station). Pulling back into the gate, my PSgt is waiting for me, red in the face. Smoking ensued. Sent to rack until further notice. My Squad, great ex-cav scout guy, leader comes in and explaines that i'm either going to get an Art 15 or I have to clean out the porta-johns for the rest of AT. He explains that I am already low on the totom pole, and I will probably clean them out anyways, or I can refuse, get the Art 15 and then clean up the shitters. I decided to volunteer for cleaning and missed the Art 15.

One was for fraudulent enlistment and one was for civil disobedience. But I tried to put that behind me. I'm a papa now and behave myself.
