For those who were in the service or had a spouse in the service when they got married did you have a military wedding? Why or why not?

Absolutely.
And just to piss off the "unwritten rules" crowd, I wore my marksmanship medals.

Lol, awesome sir, good to see an officer who doesn't fear breaking a "reg" at least once in a while....;).

Yes, I wore my Dress blues during my wedding. Every one of my groomsmen also wore their Blues, except one, he wore his State Police Uniform.

I did wear my uniform, but it wasn't a military wedding. On a side note, I also wore my uniform to my daughters wedding (as did the father of the groom).

Lol...I liked the last option so I wound up clicking on it...Im not here !!!!!!! My wedding was Totally Military with Guard and all, only deviation I believe was when My best man swatted her on the backside with his sword after we had traveled under the saber arch. Another wedding I attended was my best mans, it too was Military except for the part where He knelt at the alter to speak his vows and I had written "HELP ME" on the soles of his shoes... The church erupted with laughter and I had to make a break for the door with a very disgruntled bride on my 6 !!!!!

Had our ceremony at the Randolph chapel and reception at a hangar filled with WWII era aircraft. Too much fun and did it without a lot of $.

I am getting m married in October and my we are trying to figure out how to get sabers without having to buy 6 of them. Is there a place they can be rented or borrowed for this purpose? Any guidance you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

I didn't as I was going through OCS at the time and still had my Greens. (waiting till BOLC to get my blues).
But will wear my blues or what ever is the uniform at the time when we renew our vows either at the 10 year mark or 20 year mark.

Met my wife when we were ROTC instructors at different colleges and we were TAC officers together at Advanced Camp. We married one year later at Fort Hamilton NY.. I wore my Dress Blues and she a wedding dress. Had a sabre guard and the works!

I was a silly-vilian when I got married, so I did not.
My best friend asked all of us to where are service equivelant for his wedding and it was very nice. It was not a military wedding, but the uniforms added a nice touch...especially to a bit of a country wedding.
Sir, is there something a-foot that we need to take a collection for?
