When I was a recruiter I was sitting outside my Company Commanders office waiting to talk to him. He was chatting with one of the other commanders in my battalion. He basically said exactly the same thing. I hollered out "hey Sir, I'm sitting right here". He responded "not you Sergeant Weber". So apparently I was the only enlisted person in the Army who joined for some reason other than I was too stupid to go to college. It is a common belief among many in and out of the Military.

Lol I made straight A's. Was 16 yrs old my Senior year. Joined the Marines two months after I turned 17 yrs old. I could have went to the college of my choice. My Dad made nearly 100,000.00. a year in the 1970's. Money and intelligence wasn"t a problem. I chose the USMC. Instead and am still grateful I did.
