I’m highly considering joining the 75th as my next career move. However, I hate being stuck in the office all the time. i’ve heard that every MOS in the 75th is trained as Infantry first. Though I’m not an 11B, will I be able to join them in training? Will I be training in both MOS’s (92Y/11B)? If so that would be great. I’d appreciate some insight and enlightenment on this MOS topic. Thanks IA.

No doubt you will get to do some infantry training. I served in infantry and armor units and spent a fair amount of time training with them. But, your primary focus has to be your 92Y training and work. Becoming proficient at 11B skills will not advance your career as a 92Y, and focusing too much of your attention in that direction will degrade your value to your unit. As someone said below; If you want to be an infantry soldier you should change your MOS.
Also, bear in mind: No matter how much time you spend training with the 11B members of your unit, they will not see you as one. They will accept you as a member of the unit. They will appreciate the support you provide by doing your supply duties. If you're really good, they will appreciate the effort you put into providing the extras that a good supply sergeant has to share. And, they will appreciate your willingness to leave the garrison work environment to share in their training. Training with them will, in fact, help you to better know just what kind of extra goodies they will value the most. But, training with them will never make you one of them.

True. Even 11Bs that are stuck on a desk aren't always seen as one of the guys. Thems just the breaks.

SFC, I agree with you completely. Thank you for the reminder. I understand what you're saying. My back story is that in my six years being in I've tried to re class to 11B three times and was told no. I've been trying to leave the 92Y field ever since. Since being in supply I've always been stuck in the office and was never able to do anything outside of that competitions, weapons/ medical training, a lot of the basic soldier training. From what I've heard the 75th is the place that I should go to get all that training. At the same time my goal is to be combat arms, so my goal would probably be to go 75th as supply, get my Ranger tab and 4187 to 11B while in the regiment, or just go to SFAS. Not sure yet. Again, thank you for your input.

MSG, I am aware. I've tried reclassing three times to 11B. I have a plan though. Thanks.

Have you considered going out for selection? Or if you just want specifically 11B, And they refuse to let you reclassify as part of reimbursement, ETS go to an Infantry Guard unit, of which there are plenty, and they will let you re-classify easy there, and then either apply for full time guard or go back Active, being an MOS qualified 11B. Just options to consider,

Everyone in the Battalion has the opportunity to attend Ranger school. So you do get to train on some Infantry tactics but you will not be Infantry. You will still have to do your job in supply. If you want to be training as Infantry you need to request an MOS transfer.
