This is something my drill instructors said they would make us ingest if we had it (sensorineural it a bit for the sailors on here lmao)

I can not answer for everyone, but we were still slaying bitches in 2007 to good effect. I did have several recruits break down in tears, requested me to stop treating them with firmness but they all survived and were stronger for the experience. No, on the stress cards.

Saw a little bit of that at Parris Island in 1970-72. Some KIDS are not meant to be Marines, but the Marine Corps (did then anyway) BUILD MEN.

LCDR (Join to see) - , I like to think that the Marines of today are cut from the same cloth as those who fought in Belleau Wood, Tarawa, Iwo Jima, the Chosin Reservoir and Hue. Iraq and Afghanistan proved that.

I actually believe that that is the case in all of the services. We have all heard the "this generation" comments and to that I say bullshit. We still have ~0.4 percent of our young men and women volunteering for active duty. On the shoulders of that ~0.4 percent lay the future of country.

Please understand my comments, !st Sgt.......They are Marines only upon graduation from Boot Camp. Once they are Marines, I agree. Before that, well......

1stSgt (Join to see) - I totally agree. While I am of the opinion that it's a good thing to get ride of some of the meaningless harassment (yes, I understand that a lot of the "harassment" has a distinct purpose), the kids making it through have proved to be as tough as any of their forefathers. I would like to gripe about their levels of fitness coming in, but I remember a lot my OSUT class were in crappy condition when they hit Basic and I wasn't exactly a PT stud when I hit the footprints either.

I am going to be disgusted if Basic is causing PTSD.

I does Sir, I was escorting a kid to Behavioral Health back in 2010 and when I walked in I noticed 4 new Privates sitting in there waiting for a provider. I thought they just came back from Iraq or something so I asked them "did you guys just get back" they replied no and they just graduated from OSUT and believe they have PTSD!!! Young 19-20 year olds trying to ply that card! I almost had to see someone because how pissed off I was.
