I am currently a NG 70H board selected for another Active Duty AMEDD AOC. My recruiter stated that RA will not cut an AD order until the NG produces a Separation Order back dated to the day I sign my contract. I will not complete my DA 71A until I arrive my first unit, which means I will have a break in service for an unknown amount of time, e.g. not earning a Drill check or more point, until I arrive at my unit and complete a DA 71A. This is different than what other ARNG members have to do that go through the Call to Active Duty program. Wondering why AMEDD is different or am I being told the wrong information

I believe the AD will do is to count all your prior AD time and will back track your BASD by adjusting the AD duty from the BASD to get a new BASD based on your orders. I apologize if this appears verbose or incoherent, but I am not totally lucid now.

You would continue to report to your guard or reserve unit until they cut active duty orders to report to your new duty station, but you will need a dd368 to release you from guard in order to transfer to active duty which is good for either 3 or 6 months ( can’t recall off the top)

Essentially the BASD on your orders bringing you to Active Duty will be adjusted back in time to give you credit for AD time.
