Last week Obamas DOJ introduced the 'Strong cities network' a globalized police force to thwart homegrown terrorism specifically designed to increase local dependence on federal and international authorities….. Obama and the UN policing our home towns… lets add this to my conspiracy list….because it deserves to be watched.

Nice paranoid mischaracterization of this initiative. I suggest you investigate it more before trying to characterize it as a conspiracy. It's not a "global police force", and it's not designed to "increase local dependence on federal and international authorities". The initiative is designed to facilitate the sharing of ideas and best practices, and to increase coordination/collaboration among the different levels of law enforcement. Do you really want each level of law enforcement to fight terrorism in a vacuum? Do you really want each level of law enforcement to not learn from others' experiences? I certainly don't.

I sleep well thanks to our 2nd Amendment rights…. I m not worried about a knock on the door in the middle of the night….but that could never happen in a world…

If it's anything involving the United Nations than no, our county should have nothing to do with the UN. As far as global policing, our country has law enforcement already, maybe if we would let them do their jobs and stop demonizing the whole force for the actions of such a small amount of bad seeds we wouldn't even need to bring up the idea of a global police force. I feel about as safe as I think I ever will in this country with the way it is right now and bringing in a bunch a blue helmets or any other global police (which you know will probably be more para-military) is only going to make me feel more unsafe to live here. We have our law enforcement and our military to protect this land, leave the other countries of this world the hell out of it.

Count me in as one that supports this! I rather share knowledge (and intelligence) of violent extremism movements from a local level across the globe to give us all a clearer picture of what is on the horizon. Working together to build cohesion and identify violent extremism - to counter terroristic threats is a by-product of this program. I prefer to be armed with the information than to be surprised with the unexpected, and I am quite sure you do as well.

I think anytime and anywhere we hear the words 'nationalized' or 'globalized' in the same sentence as 'police force' we need to be concerned and critical .....especially when our constitional rights are so frequently called into question with this current administration.

Obviously there is a lot of miscommunication going on in this discussion thread. Someone needs to provide a glossary of terms. "Global Police Force" for example has an ominous tone to it. "International Cooperation" seems benign. But what do these things really mean in practice? Some appear to be willing to give them the best interpretation. Others fear the worse.
Sadly, I am inclined to fear the worse. Rather than attempt to explain myself (which would require an essay far longer than I'm willing to invest my time in) please allow me to suggest that you read an essay on "Justice and the Obama Justice Department" by Michael B. Mukasey, a former U.S. Attorney General, that was published in Imprimis, a publication of Hillsdale College. Obviously his views reach much farther than the scope of this discussion, but they are directly related to the overall problem and clearly state why I and so many are suspicious of anything proposed by this Administration

CPT.. I agree with you. One of the srticles claim that UN law will over ride our Constitution. This all of a sudden is hot and many talking about it. I take anything that this adminstration want to do as serious. This could be our path to defeat from within. Obama must have plans to be in the UN after his office term.

No, because most nations are not on the same page as far as tactics and techniques to combat these threats.

This is a forum for cities to collaborate on security measures, there is nothing in it about global policing or UN policing of home towns.

I read it, I did not read every fevered conspiracy theorists attempt to twist the wording into something controversial.

If your going to just ignore the actual words used and make up your own fiction, please state that up front. I've known people who were convinced we were all ruled by lizard people from another planet. I'll tell you the same thing I tell them... if you ever have some real evidence please be sure to let me know.
