See what I think should be done here: http://www.usaHonorGuard.com

If we get enough pressure applied to Congress, this can be done.

What do you think of my solution (i.e. The US Air Honor Guard) and any feedback about the website?

I admire the vision of the project, and agree something should be done. I am sure there would be volunteers to fly. The cost to obtain, maintain, and train a force to man these flights will be prohibitive as a separate organization. Expecting legislation to cross so many desks unaltered may be a bridge too far. That said, just because it won't be easy doesn't mean it shouldn't be done. If you need a flight surgeon when I retire, I will offer my services.

I'll keep that in mind - I'm sure we will need your medical expertise. As for training etc, it would all be covered by the military - flight, basic flight training, refresher training etc. the legislation is very comprehensive and covers most if not all contingencies.

MAJ J.....I made up my mind to do whatever I can to reach out to veterans than to hope and wait on others to do something, because every moment and whatever could be contributed counts for support. Although it may not be a whole lot, but it is something to make him/her feel wanted and appreciated.

Indeed - in talking with non- military staffers of politicians offices, they are under the mistaken assumption that military jets taking part in honoring the fallen and/or returning personnel / units is somehow common place,. AND, that since the ban on jet participation has been lifted that there will be flybys all the time now. Truth is, it's a rarity and due to budget cuts such honorary demonstrations wont be happening for the most part. THATS WHY I am asking for help in pressuring Congress and contacting Senator Dean Heller is a prime place to start.
