Do you believe that children who have not finished their education should be allowed to be activists?

Do you believe that these young people even have the proper formal education and/or life experience that would allow them to speak intelligently on anything worthy of becoming an activist for or against?

In most cases no, but these kids know first hand what the problem is in their school. They probably suspected. But what they are doing is beyond what they know. They think they know what they are being told not what they have experienced. If we left the decisions of the country to these adolescent kids we would have legalized drugs, no guns for law abiding citizens, nothing that makes this country work. You can't have one group of underdeveloped minds telling the country what to do. It is ridiculous that people even listen to these manipulated kids. I too wish we lived in a fantasy world where other people provided for you and you didn't have to worry about some nut job declaring jihad on your way of life.

They have a right to protest. However, we have the right not to take what they say seriously because they have no real life experience. Schools should NOT sponsor political protests or allow children to participate in protests on school time. Education should not be politicised. If students want tonprotest it should be after school hours. This protest today on a weekend is ok bt there is no way I would allow my hildren to participate in it. They are minors and not capable of making adult decisions. As far as banning rifle sales to people under 21, only if we make the minimum enlistment age 21 too! If these 18-20 year old kids are not responsible enough to own rifles they are definitely not responsible enough to drive tanks, fix aircraft, handle high explosives or maintain nuclear missles, right?

Yes. Unless their parents are involved. Parents can push their views on their own children. That is their right as parents. That is what we do as parents. We teach our children our own moral values.

I am not against peaceful protesting and I am NOT a member of the right. I lean right in some things and left in some things. I have views that cross both sides unlike you. I was against school sponsored “protests” on school time without parental consent. The stuff on saturday didn’t bother me nearly as much. If you actually read my comments instead of saying what you “think” I said you would see that. I said I would not allow MY children to participate in it. If other people allowed their children to participate in it then that is their right as parents. Peacefully protest all you want as long as peaceful counter protests are also allowed. Also, if people in congress choose to ignore the peaceful protests and keep our gun laws the way they are that would be great. I will be sure to inform my state congress critters that I would like them to do just that and not fall for the media hype and the views of the people in those protests. That is my right.

The youth of any country, culture, or historical period are easily manipulated. Their idealism and lack of historical perspective always makes them prime targets for iodeologues of every stripe.
In a free society, i find it disturbing that one would even speak of ‘allowing’ anything.
Nobody ever learns from the mistakes of history, or those of others, and only rarely from their own.

Eh, I could deal with that. How's the cost of living? I might be in the market to move somewhere after finishing college.

Cost of living is quite high and we have five seasons: Maple Sugaring season, mud season, summer, fall and six months of winter.
