So, this is from the Daily Beast, and it infers that military veterans must be monitored. It brings up "the present and historical ties between American hate groups and armed servicemen and women....".

My own belief is that, because Veterans, Evangelical Christians, conservative Catholics, and mothers disagreeing with school boards tend to not vote the way that the staff of the Daily Beast would like, then they should be rounded up like the Gypsies and Jews in Germany in 1939 (too much of a threat to the New Order).

It seems that this article would classify George Washington as a "Radicalized Military Vet".

So, how do you see it?

The Marxist Left see us as a threat to their ability to gain and maintain ultimate power and control. They know that anyone who swore and oath to the US Constitution and MEANT IT, is a threat to their treasonous plans. This is also why they are demonizing Christians and traditional Catholics, who believe in their God. We are up against an evil that has invaded our nation from within. This election season may get frosty with all of these insurgents flooding our southern border. Stay vigilant!

Very well-said. And they are getting away with it by hiding under the skirts of the Progressive Mainstream Media.

In recent years, we have heard from the Left this myth of radical veterans and Hate Groups within the ranks. Nothing could be further from the truth. There is no evidence of radical groups within the ranks. Yet, the Left continue to raise the issue. If it were true, wouldn't the senior leadership have brought it up? The only organized groups that have been identified are branches of domestic street gangs operating on and near bases. About 15 years ago, Kaiserslautern Military community had a significant street gang presence, not sure of the status now.

Agreed! This seems to be a typical tactic of the Leftists: Take a phrase that demonizes your opposition (whether it is founded, or not), repeat it enough in the media, and eventually you will have egg-heads in college student unions and newsrooms repeating it, because it is "....common knowledge...".

I wouldn't believe the RAND Corp, the Daily Beast, or anyone attempting to smear the heart and soul of America. Veterans by and large are the best and most patriotic citizens in our nation. Anyone who calls into question the loyalty of these men and women is doing so for nefarious reasons, PERIOD! Full Stop!

It wasn't long ago when the an analyst from the new Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Intelligence and Analysis (I&A) published for the new Obama administration a very similar document. The political Left has been taken o er by Communists, Communist sympathizers, and ignorant lemmings who will follow their pied piper where ever they lead.

The "mostly peaceful" color revolution of 2020 has never brought this amount of suspicion and threat designation reporting from ANY of the same supposed experts and analysts, even at the RAND Corp. Why? If you have to ask that question then you aren't a critical thinker or very good at analyzing the current situation in America.

Veterans, moms at school board meetings, right for lifers, etc., are not the threat, but the solution. We have a nation to stand up for from an evil we have resisted and thought we had defeated. That threat is alive a thriving on our Universities and colleges today, but their leaders, the ones who preceded this current rope of Leftists are in politics and government service all across America and they must be named and called out. If not, we're finished as a Republic.

I can personally see how and why Vets would be drawn to these groups. Taking an oath to protect and defend our country, and the constitution, is not something some of us take lightly. It is also something that doesn't end just because our service has. I personally have a hard time with it, considering the state of the USA today. I feel like we now have two political parties that cannot be trusted to do what is best for the country and the people. We are all now seeing huge breaches of security clearances that should end terms and disqualify individuals from running again. As soldiers we know what the consequences are for even small violations. However, this does not seem to be the case with our politicians. It makes one wonder if they even have or need security clearances for their positions. If they do not then that is an oversight that needs to be fixed. Also, having two parties that can never agree on anything, just because it wasn't their party, is getting old. I believe once elected the parties should end. Yes, you may run as republican or democrat but once elected then you're a senator or congressmen whose sole purpose is to better the USA and the People regardless of party.
As a person who grew up as Gen X, I remember a better, safer America. Wasn't perfect, but was a whole lot better than today. How do we get back to a better USA is hard to say, but I think it should be up to the people to decide instead of the few dictating the lives of the many.

George Washington's Farewell Address comes to mind. If people focused on issues, rather than parties, we would do a lot better.

I believe that new recruits make an easy target for extremist. But the real threat could come from veterans with combat experience and a bad attitude or gang affiliation. Most veterans that I know would support the military and their respective branches in defending America from a domestic threat. I physically can't serve, but I will always be prepared to defend this country, even if it means taking action against mis-guided Americans. I take my oath seriously until I die. Even threats for wanting to deny Trump the white house. I am a Marine, come find me if you don't like what I am saying!

This is a hard question to answer. I will answer with my own thoughts. But however us Veterans has been marked as Domestic Terrorist by the far left and Democratic elected officials. There is two types of people who join the military, Patriots & Non-patriots. With in the military ranks the Patriots out way the non-patriots as a whole. Somehow the Patriots that leave the military on a good note (Honorable Discharge) somehow gets Radicalized from leftist groups by Brainwashing a individual by feeding lies to them. Just like the Cults do to intrap one into their thinking and their way of life. It is up to the individual to join the far left or not. This has been going on for over 227 years and not just here in the United States, but all over the World when the Romans created the military. I refer to them as Turncoats because they no longer belong in my Brother's and sister's in arms club. Good night my Brother's and Sister's. Stay Safe, Healthy and be aware of your surroundings.

The following quotes are taken from a Rand article.
Here's the link to this article: https://www.rand.org/news/press/2023/05/23.html.

"Support among military veterans for extremist groups and extremist ideals appears similar to or less than levels seen among the U.S. public in general, despite fears that it could be higher, according to a new RAND Corporation report."

"Concern that the veteran community is at increased risk of radicalization to violent extremism has increased since reports that a significant proportion of the people who attacked the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021, were currently or had been affiliated with the U.S. military."

Certainly reading comments at this website is NOT in any way "research." However, my take on having read many, many posts on RallyPoint is that there are veterans and retirees who use inflammatory rhetoric, particularly when making statements that are conclusions rather than posting facts that warrant conclusions.

From my reading of website members' comments, posts that intend to arouse angry or violent feelings come more from the political right than from the political left. Perhaps administrators have a capability to determine if my reading of posts is accurate. . . .

The first thing we need to do is look at the articles author... Nick Schager is an Entertainment Critic for the Daily Beast. His responsibilities include: writing reviews, features, and interview and Q&A pieces about film, television, music and pop culture.
Next, we need to look at the publication "Daily Beast": There is a clear Left bias in news content published by The Daily Beast. In its politics section, it claims to be “non-partisan, but not neutral.”
In truth, they strongly align with liberal, progressive, or left-wing thought and/or policy agendas. Many stories display sensationalist tags, such as “Ok Boomer,” "Crashed Plane Behind D.C. Chaos Owned by Big-Time MAGA Donor Couple", “The Kentucky Miner Who Scammed Americans by Claiming He Was Hitler and Plotting a ‘Revolt’ With ‘Spaceships’,” and “No, Rudy: Trump Isn’t Othello. He’s Iago.” Their latest attack against our veteran community "The Chilling Threat of Radicalized U.S. Military Vets" is just another of their sensationalist tags...
The "Chilling Threat..." article by Schager is nothing more than an entertainment review of Charlie Sadoff’s documentary movie “Against All Enemies”. The documentary purports to investigate how white nationalist organizations go after soldiers and cops—and shows you why that’s so scary. However, despite the "Documentary" in its description, it is nothing more than a movie. And, like a lot of other documentary movies, it contains a smattering of truth thrown together with a lot of sensational sounding fiction. We should not consider Schager's article to be anything other than a barely readable mishmash of sensational sounding propaganda. It's meant to demean our veteran community and spread meaningless discourse about a subject the author know nothing about!

Yes I do. I believe that every Radicalized (Atheist, Anti-God, Liberal, Progressive, Democratic Socialist, Socialist, Communist) veteran is a threat. They have been trained in weapons and tactics. They were sworn to support and defend the Constitution of the United States of America and have thrown those vows away. Promoting ANY other form of government, advocating for any foreign national to enter our country ILLEGALLY, giving aid and succor to those same ILLEGAL migrants, ALL violates their oaths. They are, at the least, potential threats to this great nation. At the most, they are potential TRAITORS and ENEMIES OF THE STATE.
