One simple question that I have for retention NCOs or people that have the knowledge, so I am planning on reclassing from 74D to 35T, I have a TS/SCI and the ST score required. My question is, when I reclass and finish AIT, will I get the bonus of the new MOS or the old one? And by the way, how is 35T AIT and what should I expect? I am asking because 35T changes often from what I read online.

If this is based on being re-enlisted for the new MOS, and you pass, then you qualify for that bonus. Normally if you just reclass without re-enlisting then, no bonus for new MOS. Why not check to your retention NCO who will do the paperwork?

You literally just chose what may be the hardest 35 series job to reclass into. The AIT is the longest 35 series so get used to southern Arizona. Each 35T AIT graduates between 7-12 students per cycle. That’s the reason the bonuses are so high, there aren’t a lot of 35T in the army and the ones that are get out and get a high paying job. Good luck

Well, it's not about the bonus Sergeant, 17C was the MOS that I wanted to pick when joining the Army, but for some reason they had no slots open. I have an associate degree in computer science and I have always loved computer (network). I just want to switch to a job that I would love to do, get experiences and certs, and whenever I happen to get out, hopefully my chances of ending up homeless is 0.
I talked to a few 35T and I saw some of their books, it's pretty much stuffs that I already know.
Will it be challenging? Yes, because there's always more to learn and I am not looking forward to learning Linux, but I'm confident that I'll be fine.
If everything fails, hopefully by the end of my next contract I get my Bachelor and I'll walk out the door smiling.
