Prince Harry has had some bad reviews about some of his antics when he was younger. He grew up. He enlisted in the military and has had two deployments to Afghanistan. He came to America recently and hit off with our military men and women. I have the highest respect for him and for what he has done since being in America. He continues to be an example of how a celebrity should act. Now, to the rest of the story:

Overcome with emotion. Prince Harry was deeply moved after a U.S. Marine gave the dog tag of a fallen colleague to the royal on Sunday, Nov. 1, at Buckingham Palace.

Marine Kirstie Ennis had just finished a 1,000 mile marathon trek for charity through Britain with five others when she presented the royal, 31, with the dog tag. Ennis herself had been severely injured in a 2012 helicopter crash in Afghanistan.

The royal, 31, gave a hug to Marine Kirstie Ennis as she presented him with a dog tag from a fallen Marine. Ennis, 24, who was severely injured in a 2012 helicopter crash in Afghanistan, walked 1,000 miles through Britain along with five other people.

Same way I feel now. I didn't know much about him before his visit to Ametica. He's just one of the guys, and that's awesome.

SGT (Join to see) - unless you are in the media relations department at Buckingham Palace. In which case Harry being one of the guys causes copious use of alcohol and loss of sleep at night.

Nope. Even though I am Irish American, I am a huge fan of Princes Harry & William. Harry was in Colorado for Disabled Veterans games and coverage was spectacular. He seems like a soldier’s soldier. Did you know William piloted a C-17 back to the UK from KAF with the remains of a fallen British soldier? Bravo.
It’s inspiring to know that these Royals, the cream of Great Britain, put their nation first.
I’d remind members of what we heard 4 yrs ago from Presidential candidate ref his 5 sons National Service; “One of the ways my sons are showing support for our nation is helping to get me elected.”

Yes Sir, I knew that he came home with the soldier. I didn't know he was the pilot. He's a great leader and example.

I would agree with SGT Bodine. His military service carries more weight than any PR.

Harry looks like a good Irishman so as someone who is 25% Irish I too will over look his being a Brit.

I think they are very respectful people. Everyone has their flaws, but how they treat people even in other countries is very classy!

I do too SSgt David Tedrow. I don't why some folks do not like him. He's far from a spoiled brat Royalty.

SGT (Join to see) - He's human and screws up occasionally just like the rest of us mortals. He seems pretty real. More so than his Father and Grandmother.

Capt Jeff S., I totally agree with you. I don't care for Charles at all or his wife Camille. Snobs.

Charles was in the Parachute Regiment and he also flew Helicopters and served as a Naval Officer. Compare him with what we have as leaders.

I don't really care for the Royal Family except for QE II, Prince Harry and Prince William. They are the only ones who seem to be grounded to the earth. I have the utmost respect for Prince Harry and what he has done for his country. He did not hide behind his Royalty and did go and serve in combat operations.

For such privileged individuals I give Prince Harry and William high marks in signing up - As far as the Royals there have been a number of them that have served. Prince Charles has been a good mentor and example of service for your country - both of his sons served. As expected they have the same fears and concerns as the the next guy.

Thanks for your usual well written reply. I did not know Prince Charles was such a good influence. I've always had him pegged as being part of Diana's "Accident" so he could marry Camilla.

Take the time to visit any of the memorials dedicated to the armed services and on a daily basis you will find any denomination of military visiting these sights being moved emotionally. This is a veteran who has served his country following his fathers service. Slack does not need to be given, just respect for the fact Prince Harry knows of the sacrifice it takes to serve ones country.

Personally, I wish to hell and back some of our leadership would go as far. We've had many Presidents who served actively in our wars...and one who came up from the ranks as a private, earning his commission on the battlefield. Being the scions of the elite didn't keep JFK and a couple of Roosevelts out of harms way either. From what I understand, "Captain Windsor" dodged official "regulations" at times to be there with his troops...Big Brother doesn't sound like much of a wimp either. Since he hasn't got any chance at the throne with nephew George around...maybe we should talk him into becoming one of 'uns and making a run for the White House.-just saying.
