Prince Harry has had some bad reviews about some of his antics when he was younger. He grew up. He enlisted in the military and has had two deployments to Afghanistan. He came to America recently and hit off with our military men and women. I have the highest respect for him and for what he has done since being in America. He continues to be an example of how a celebrity should act. Now, to the rest of the story:

Overcome with emotion. Prince Harry was deeply moved after a U.S. Marine gave the dog tag of a fallen colleague to the royal on Sunday, Nov. 1, at Buckingham Palace.

Marine Kirstie Ennis had just finished a 1,000 mile marathon trek for charity through Britain with five others when she presented the royal, 31, with the dog tag. Ennis herself had been severely injured in a 2012 helicopter crash in Afghanistan.

The royal, 31, gave a hug to Marine Kirstie Ennis as she presented him with a dog tag from a fallen Marine. Ennis, 24, who was severely injured in a 2012 helicopter crash in Afghanistan, walked 1,000 miles through Britain along with five other people.

I think the royal family and their role in governing Britain is extremely anachronistic and a drain on national resources.

That said, Princes William and Harry have done great things with the roles they were given by birth. They have served not only honorably, but well. They deserve respect for that.

MAJ (Join to see), They are definitely old fashioned. But the two Prinece's are up on what's happening in the real world. That's what makes them so great IMO.

Nothing against them personally. Harry is a Vet and deserves the utmost respect. I think the whole royalty thing is silly and should just go away. But, I'm not British so if it makes them happy, more power to them.

It's a huge positive change from the same Prince with the nazi image. He really cares about the military as he understands about serving, not like our leadership.

Nothing wrong with a hug. Not sure why Kirstie Ennis would give the prince the dog tags of a fallen Marine though.

Then you should go read the story and get the background. You would see that Prince Harry is the official promoter of the "Walk Of Britain" which has donated millions to Wounded Warriors. The walk ends at Buckingham Palace where he met them.

I dislike royal. But he served, so he is brother to his troops. That is British culture, I will never want this over here.

My wife is British and loves all things royal...Me, not so much.

First, Harry did not enlist in the British Army. He went to Sandhurst (Their West Point) and was commissioned. I believe he left the service as a Captain. He comes from an elite of the elite world and is given opportunities to do what ever he likes. Any road he wanted to take would have been paved and covered with rose petals for him.

The British Royals are one of the richest families in the world and have done so over generations off of the people of Great Britain. I like to call them the worlds most expensive welfare case. Do they serve a purpose. I guess. They have nothing buy ceremonial function and make people feel good (sometimes). If the Brits want to carry that expense to smile warmly from time to time, that is up to them.

He served because that is what all of the Royal men do. It is almost a requirement to serves for some period of time. Personally, he seems like a decent guy. He went where he didn't have to go (but for obvious reasons). I am sure he feels a sense of camaraderie with others that served but make no mistake. He is not one of us.

Thanks Cpl Jeff N.. That's the best comment yet. The reason I wrote my question, like I didi, is because some folks can't stand the Royal family and anyone who is connected. I do admire both sons but I think, and always have, the Royal family is a waste of time. But that's just me. If I was British, I might understand it better.

He still had to go to flight School to learn to fly the Apache, he also served in the Infantry. He did not have to do it, so what great things have you did?

SSG Delanda Hunt. It would be what great things have I none done, not did.

I suspect if I had unlimited funding and opportunities presented to me as a member of the British Royal Family the sky would have been the limit. You don't really think he had to earn a spot at Sand Hurst or earn his way into flight school do you? Do you think there was any chance he would not make it through flight school as a Prince in the British Royal Family? As I said, he seems like a decent guy but he comes from a place you and I can hardly fathom.

I'd rather see Harry as King. Of the Britains of course, I'll have none of any kings for me and mine.
