RP Members and Connections Memorial Day is here. Please share your memories with us in a picture of those we honor and remember on this Memorial Day and those to come. This will be one of those questions that just keep giving us great memeories of those we've lost who served this great nation.
Here are pictures of my Father Donald Burroughs (Army Korean War Veteran) who passed on October 7, 2016, and my Father-in-Law Loren Leon Hazeldahl (Marine Vietnam Veteran) who died from suicide on December 8, 2015.
I have many more that I could add to this post and I will remember them in silence.
Please coninue to share your pictures and memories with the RP Nation for this Memorial Day and those to come.

This is the only photo I have of him. 3rd bench from the left, first person. We met in BCT at Fort Benning, different platoons but same company. We always got stuck on CQ duty together somehow. He killed himself after being outed as bisexual, MPs came and interrogated him and freaked him out so badly that he just decided to end it rather than go home with that on his record. A few years later and nobody would've cared.

I lost my father on May 27th and it’s been really hard to think that he’s gone. This Father’s Day will be tough. He was in the Navy and served in Cuba during the Missile Crisis. #RIPDad #Navy

I don't have picture, and he was killed in a training accident during a live-fire, but he didn't seem to have much family and we didn't find that out until he died: http://archives.starbulletin.com/2000/08/29/news/story10.html
Spc. Don Falter, 24, of Pocatello, Idaho, was killed when two bangalore torpedoes exploded as he tried to take cover. He and six other soldiers from the 25th Division's 65th Engineer Battalion were using two 5-foot long explosive devices to breach a triple-strand concertina wire obstacle at PTA's Range 10.

"An error in judgment was made that night on Range 10. It was a mistake," said Maj. Stan Heath, 25th Infantry Division spokesman.

Unfortunately I can’t find the picture I had of my dear friend SGT Christian Friedman; he left us all to early after taking his own life a little over 3 years ago. He suffered from PTSD and other medical problems after his second deployment to the Middle East.

SFC Dagmar Riley
Thank you COL Mikel Burroughs; I’ve known a few that left us via suicide and it doesn’t get easier either while always stirring up ranges of so many different emotions ranging anywhere between anger and hurting like crazy. Way to many are choosing this route instead of reaching out for help. The few that do reach out first aren’t being helped as they should be or even being ridiculed at times. This has to stop!
