All you photogenic military personnel out there in RP Land let’s have a little photo session just to lighten it up today! Share the first photograph or the earliest photograph of yourself when you entered the military and tell us the date of the photo.
I'll start with Private Burroughs in 1975 at Fort Leonard Wood, MO & end with Colonel Mikel in 2005!

Lost all most everything in a house fire, all my pictures or from 1992 to present, smh

I was fortunate. The pic was with my mother while I was out of the country. Her house burned but the pic was one of the few things that survived.

I had just finished my technical school at Lackland and Camp Bullis, Texas. I was on my way to my first assignment at Büchel Air Base, Germany Fliegerhorst; Security of Special Weapons; Weapon Storage Areas, Protection of Tab V Shelters – U.S. Special Weapons attached to Germany Aircraft Entry Control, Working with Host Nation quick reaction teams.

The First Photo was taken 1990 at the recruiting station in NYC, the second is in 1994 in Korea on the Signal Mountain with North Korea behind me, the Third taken 1997 in Germany as a SGT for the promotion board, the Last is this year as I was inducted into the New York State Senate Veterans Hall of Fame class of 2017 for my work with veterans on Long Island. What changes over the years..

I was not even a Marine yet this is week 6 in boot MCRD SD April 1964 I was 17. I was with my Mother, sister and a future Marine my nephew Lance. This was my very first picture in uniform.

Do you all see the incredible history you have preserved here? You should do other themes and post photos to memorialize different areas of military service - just a thought. This is fascinating to scroll through.
