I'm really going out on a limb here with this one. There were some really great photos of RP Members in their very first uniform picture. Thanks for sharing everyone who participated - that is still going by the way!

All you photogenic military personnel out there in RP Land let’s have a little photo session just to lighten it up today! Share the first photograph or the earliest photograph of yourself when you entered the military and tell us the date of the photo. I'll start with Private Burroughs in 1975 at Fort Leonard...

I had grown a beard and needed to shave and put the uniform on to get a blank piece of paper because the medals had not been approved yet.

I do, Im on OCP, at NTC conducting a TOC exercise to certify our readiness, interrupted 6 days from change of mission, for a briefing to be ready to pack and deploy to a distant country in the next 48 hours ... Kettle into the fire so to speak...The pic is of me telling that 3 star, that though I was only a few weeks from retirement, Id deploy with my TOC and get it up and operational....just call DA and tell um Im not done yet......We got a stand down message 2 days later, I went home, cleared my office and walked away. They were too busy to do awards and ceremony, or even a final NCORER so no good buys, no "final" pictures.. I was at NTC redyeing to deploy one week and retired the next.

SGM Erik Marquez I retired on February 1, 2012 Erik and I received an award for my time as Brigade Commander of the 89th Sustainment Brigade a year later on a Cruise Ship. They asked me to wear my uniform, so I did, but I refused to shave my beard after a year. Here is it and don't shoot me for not shaving. After 37 years I wasn't going to do it! It is what it is brother! Below that one is one actually taken during my retirement dining out - not real great pictures

So its my last pic I have in uniform with my husband over in Iraq, and my first picture in uniform, because I was so proud to be serving
