When veteran Marine Maj. Bridget Guerrero set out to run a mile for each of the 160 female troops killed in Iraq and Afghanistan, she never thought that one of their moms would show up to support her along the way.
After training for months, Guerrero set out to run 160 miles around Washington's Puget Sound from Thursday through Sunday. When she noticed a stranger among the crowd that came out to support her along the four-day trek, Guerrero introduced herself — and quickly realized the woman was the most important person there.

What a great way to honor her fallen sisters in combat in Iraq. I hope this story hits the National level to give her and the fallen Female Marine heroes the recognition they deserve.

Now THIS is the kind of story people should point to, when discussing whether or not women can serve in combat. Naysayers....hide.

SN Greg Wright, I just can't understand why men have such a problem with women becoming successful in the military. Our Nation needs all the men and women we can muster up to serve our country.

SGT (Join to see) - Sarge, some of it is normal human disdain for change, some of it IS sexism. The cold truth is that a round fired by a woman will service it's target just the same if you or I fired it. So long as a woman CAN do the job, she is welcome to in my eyes. I do not, however, believe in lowering standards just to get them there. Meet the standard, same as men.

SN Greg Wright, I don't think they would want it any other way either. They're damn good soldiers and service women, and have been for years.
