Do you know Life inside the eggshell?

RP members this is a post from our very own Kim Bolen RN CCM ACM from Bolen Veterans Advocacy Network concerning suicide - the context of the article is based around the fact: theme for informational "That is what suicide is; it is dancing on egg shells."

It's more for informational purposes or an FYI. Feel free to comment if you wish.

Anybody who has opened an egg that was too far along the gestational development of the bird inside has had a glimpse of life inside the egg shell COL Mikel J. Burroughs
Those of us who have been suicidal may tend to agree or disagree with the analogy. It does not fit well with my experience or the experience with many of those I know who were successful suicides and those who survived or were talked out of the attempt(s). Mind numbness, incredible anger - either self loathing or directed to others, and heavy does of alcohol, drugs, risky behavior etc. can lead to altered states of consciousness and psychotic breaks.

LTC Stephen F. To play with this analogy. I've opened them up before and they STINK, I won't stop cracking them open because I'm afraid of what might be inside.

Pain can wear you down, make you wonder if your real worth anything. A lot the suicides i knew in youth was by housewife unhappy with their lot in life. All they needed to do was walk away, but they needed the pity too much. For me it is the cowards way out admitting that you lost. Yeah, I'm a hard head with an open heart. I've spent so much time at level 8 to 10 and bulled through it with pain pills and muscle relaxers and sleeping pills. And the told I should not try to bull may way through as it would affect my percentag4e of disability. You got to make living so you do what you have too. If any one feels that they're at the end call me, [login to see] or shoot me message on Rally. We cannot help each other if you think we can read you mind!!!!! Talk to each other, the is the first step.

Honestly, after reading, it was a great article. Thank you so much for sharing it!!! My first comment was the original reaction to the question, so teehee. But I see the bigger picture here, and I've been there. I wouldn't wish it on anyone

COL Mikel J. Burroughs This content of this article is very true. I've said the same thing over and over. Suicide leaves the ones left behind permanently scarred and it brings them pain they will have to live with for the rest of their lives. It's much harder to be a survivor than to give up. Does this message make a difference? I don't know but if it saves one, then saying it over and over is worth the effort.

CPT (Join to see) Thanks for your input. Let's hope it sheds light for those who don't the experience as well and educates. It's not meant to stir up bad emotions, but to educate.
