With all the rhetoric about Russian collusion and no evidence at the present to validate the accusations.

1. Exactly what does Russia gain with a Trump Administration that affects our National Security? Foreign interference is common in elections even by the U.S.

2. Why do you believe the Trump administration would conspire with Russia?

3. Do you believe Vice President Pence or Congress would go along with this idea?

Given the tone of some of the other responses I feel compelled to inject some common sense.

A. Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election happened. It is an incontrovertible fact that every single national intelligence gathering agency agrees on. The question isn't whether or not it happened, but to what extent. The primary means seems to have been deliberately flooding social media with false information that was viewed and shared by millions. (propaganda for lack of a better term.) There is some evidence that russian linked hackers also researched more direct interference regarding how to hack voting machines. HOWEVER there is no publicly available evidence showing that piece was ever put into action. Everything I have written above is factual information that can be confirmed by literally hundreds of reputable, documented sources. As long as you avoid the extreme left sites- MSNBC, Huffington Post, Occuppy Democrats, etc. and the extreme right- Fox News, Conservative Daily, Tucker Carlson, etc. it will take less than 5 minutes to confirm.

B. Given those facts the collusion investigation is not a "leftist fantasy". The point of the investigation is to determine if the Trump campaign knew about and actively participated in the Russian interference or was an unwitting beneficiary. Secondarily it is meant to determine if the campaign/administration took steps to hide their involvement and/or influence the investigation to prevent it discovering the same. Both of those actions would be highly illegal and should be investigated. Why? The constitution of the United States is meant to, among other things, ensure a democratically elected representative government. If a candidate for president is allowed to openly consipire with a foreign governement to win an election it completely invalidates that process. Do we know for sure that happened? No. THAT'S WHY THERE HAS TO BE AN INDEPENDENT INVESTIGATION. This should not be a partisian issue. Nor is it about the outcome of the 2016 presidential election. It is about ensuring we can maintain the integrity of our electoral process. Period.

As for the other questions:
1. Russia could potentially gain an executive branch that is in their debt and would be more likely to respond positively to their requests/interests. EX/ Trump intially spoke repeatedly about closer ties with Russia and immediately set about relaxing Russian sanctions put in place by Obama.

2. Simple- To win. Trump was a deeply flawed candidate for the presidency. Even pitted against another deeply flawed candidate, Clinton, there was a strong chance he could lose. Secondarily it is possible, given his refusal to release financial information, that he has strong monetary ties to Russian buisnesses. I will not speculate on that relationship without more information.

3. Maybe. If it ensured victory, they didn't have to actively participate, and was unlikely to be discovered, Pence and key members of the GOP might've been willing to turn a blind eye. This also assumes that they knew before/while it was happening not after. Afterwards (yes I know I'm being cycnical- but I don't have much trust for politicians of either party) they would be willing to go along until Trump became too much of a political albatross/liability. At which point he'll be sacrificed and they'll deny having known anything about it.

Lastly would Trump throw America under the bus? If there was a benefit to himself, Trump Inc, his family, friends, or croonies, absolutely. I do not trust he would do something that would be morally right or benefit the country at large if there was any sort of a negative impact on him personally.

I've found that it is pretty much POINTLESS to engage people who tRUMP says would support him even if he murdered someone in the middle of the street. So there you have it. When you elect a clown, don't be surprised when you end up with a circus.

Until we stop bickering like children in this us vs. them mentality. Left vs. Right, Liberal vs. Conservative.. we are just going to keep heading for rough waters. Both sides have good ideas to bring to the table and just as many bad ones. I mean is it United We Stand or United We Stand so long as you agree with me? Personally I find this administration very divisive and thus my trust in it is very limited.

I have Absolutely NO CONFIDENCE IN Trump and his Administration. 5 time Draft Dodger, Sexual Predator that brags about assaulting women and makes statements that mock those who are Gold Star Families, Disabled and most of all RUNS from any problem. My late Grandfather would refer to him as an egg sucking hound.

Ridiculous that anyone would even take that question seriously. At no time in the past or the present that there any evidence that Trump himself has been anything other than a more staunch and loyal citizen than any democrat Congressman, Senator, or president. The left wing in America will shun no lie, no fabrication, and can be rightfully accused of out right hatred for those of us who believe the Constitution is a good framework for ordering public life.
#1. Nothing
#2 You'd be an ignorant indoctrinate fool to so believe.
#3 The democrat side would if it was Hillary in the White House.

How sad the Democrats, the left along with the extremely biased liberal media no longer care about the truth only goal is to attack/destroy this potentially great administration. Why is it nobody cared about Russia last year or those previous?
They found nothing wrong, no problem when it came to any & all collusion with the Democratic Messiah made his open mike promise to Russian President Medvedev or Hillary Clinton giving 20% of US uranium to the Russians then received $145 million in donations to the Clinton Foundation. Not to mention Bill’s $500,000 speech to the Russians after deal done… hypocrites much? They just can’t make up their own reality, oh that’s right they’re Democrats, haha.

Since the Russian thing never panned out it’s off to the next horrific act they can come up with to detract from... the screams of “Impeach Forty-five!” Federal lawsuits of violating the emoluments clause, the invocation of the Twenty-fifth Amendment for being mentally unfit, etc. etc.

Proud to say President Reagan was my first Commander in Chief followed by President George HW Bush. I joined the Marines at 17yrs old & while serving in Dragons Plt WPNS Co 1/7 89-92’ received a combat promotion to Cpl by Maj Gen Myatt and (then) Lt Col Mattis as our Battalion Commander in Kuwait as part of Task Force Ripper. Couldn’t ask for a better Secretary of Defense now!

If in uniform today would be extremely proud to serve under President Trump and his administration as are those Teufel Hunden in his cabinet.
Stay strong Mr. President… the heart of America knows media’s biased reporting and what reality truly is!

No one in my life time has done more for America than President Trump in just one year. He's throwing the rest of the world under the bus to benefit America.

I am deeply concerned. I have far more faith in my brothers and sisters in the intelligence community, which he continues to vilify. If you believe partisan news media more than your own, then maybe you should reflect on your own choices.
