Only in warm water; the breathing discipline helped during a drugfree labor and subsequent birth. PADI certified while in Hawaii. I'd recommend it to anyone that had the opportunity

Yes Ma'am, I totally feel you on the whole warm water in Hawaii thing. I am not at all interested in diving in cold water.

I might be the only one who got hypothermia off the Virgin Islands while diving. My small size and slow breathing made me first in, last out since my tank still had air.

Drove one time in Hawaii. LOVE IT!!! 5 years there and did not take advantage of the opportunity to get certified.

Finally found an old pic in a box. I know this is Hawaii because of the wet suit.

I have NAUI certifications up through advanced deco and tri-mix.

Passionate about shipwrecks, but critters and coral are cool, too.

Favorite dives: USS Saratoga and IJN Nagato, Bikini Atoll / San Francisco Maru, Truk Lagoon

Truk and Bikini Atoll are on my bucket list.

Bikini only does live-aboards now, but you have GOT to go. The wrecks are disintegrating quickly due to (we think) micro-fractures in the carbon steel caused by the nuclear detonation overpressure. This allows seawater to go inside the metal, which is accelerating the corrosion from the inside-out. 7:^(

As an SM, you may be able to get permission to dive the Prinz Eugen at Kwajalein. I haven't been able to get permission... yet.

Truk is awesome. Much easier (and cheaper) to get to than Bikini.

Check out Homestead crater in Utah, the waters just fine for swim trunks even in three inches of snow !

I've been PADI certified since 2004 but haven't dove since 2004, unfortunately. A friend of mine, SSG Daniel Deiler, just got his certification and he loves it. He's also a certified skydiver. :D
