Do you take into account a Service Members RallyPoint profile when it come to promotion? IE Leadership, Tact, Knowledge, etc.... This can be for recommending them for promotion as well
*Update* Use RP as a reference, not as a determining factor... Example, a SM is completely disrespecting other SM's on here and they are up for promotion...

Rally point is not in any way a type of promotion document to support promoting you. It would be as silly as saying if the board could check your Facebook page to see if your profile is up to army standard and there would be even a point of contention in everything you post or every photo you have. The posts or sphere of influence you have in rally point is just a page where military come together and can have an honest opinion on things that affect us or matter to us... Not because it should promote us for promotion in any way.

Hey Ma'am, I'm saying using RallyPoint as a reference, not as an official document.

Promotion packets do not require references. Besides, how would rally point serve as a reference when it is an online site where you post and reflect what you probably want others to see? Maybe all the achievements/positions Someone has on their profile are false... Online sources unfortunately are untrustworthy... In my humble opinion.

I do not use Rallypoint for a reference on anything other than myself. In other words I use it for suggestions/advice only. If one of my subordinates was on here it would not have any influence on his promotion/NCOER. At the very least, for me to even consider it, he'd have to be acting like a complete fool. I also wouldn't use it for an advantage. I can keyboard warrior and tell you the right thing to do on here all day long. What really matters, to me, is if they are actually doing it.

It depends. You would have to know a troller versus someone who is sincere in their content and delivery. If they took the time to properly document their profile page and act appropriately on social media, they can be taken seriously. Versus a troll with no picture or a hardly recognizable one and an empty profile, I wouldn't take seriously. Neither would necessarily be a candidate for promotion, but it can be a good starting point into their character.
