All I know, is that as I was watching the early reporting on the events in SC late last Thursday night, within minutes of the release of the shooting victim's names, CNN was reporting that the Pastor and the President had enjoyed a personal relationship going back to before the President had declared his candidacy in 2007. That's all I really needed hear. Let the President go and mourn the loss of his friend like any other decent human being would do under similar circumstances.

I'll speak for myself only. If I was buried and it was a military funeral, I would want only representatin of my brothers and sisters in uniform. That way, I can be assured that there will be no political agenda, media spin, or unwanted anybody. Just stetsons and spurs.

Surely you'd let an old SF trooper attend, SFC Mark Merino!

I have no spurs, SFC Mark Merino, but I will blouse my boots! What's funny is that since I'm twenty years (?) older than you, I should be inviting you to mine - with spurs, of course!
I always thought it was funny to see 3rd Infantry soldiers walking around Fort Myer wearing spurs because they'd just gotten off real horses!

Yes but then he sent his emissaries to attend the funeral for a thug. He would not attend
a funeral of a policeman that had been killed in the line of duty. So why would I think he was sincere now.
