When I was on Active Duty for Training an officer's wife drove through the gate and demanded I salute her. I said no you don't have rank mam. What do you think about spouses believing they should be saluted?

I am attached to an MP unit, and when they were working the gate, the answer they were given was you don't salute the spouse, you salute the sticker.

Otherwise, no. They don't get salutes.

SSG(P) (Join to see), check out this discussion thread, which is very close to what you posted: https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/should-a-2lt-salute-a-1lt-s-wife

I agree with what CWO4 Maria Pettus wrote (and many others have written): No, of course not. We salute the person who wears the rank, not his or her spouse, child, etc.
