Do you think that the United States will have to put troops on the ground to defeat ISIL?

Is it just me, or are the folks in Washington D.C. fooling themselves into believing that any of our so-called allies are really going to help defeat ISIL? The Arab States lending logistics support does not cut it for me. I believe Saudi Arabia should be leading the charge and shouldering the brunt of the financial burden for this since they have the most to lose if ISIL gains a foothold in Iraq. I just hope somebody does something before Iraq falls totally back into the hands of extremists.

I also firmly believe that we will have to put some boots on the ground to defeat ISIL. I just don't think air strikes and coalition forces will do the job. I'll find that thread and post a link.

I would employ the GRF Brigade from the 82nd Airborne with support from the II MEF MEU operating in the area utilizing vertical...

Yes.
I don't think the folks in DC believe otherwise. I think they say what they think people want to hear.

PO1 Timothy Miller
I think that there will be a real turnaround in policy after next week. From what I have seen on the news, we are looking at two years of lame-duckness.
