Is it just me, or are the folks in Washington D.C. fooling themselves into believing that any of our so-called allies are really going to help defeat ISIL? The Arab States lending logistics support does not cut it for me. I believe Saudi Arabia should be leading the charge and shouldering the brunt of the financial burden for this since they have the most to lose if ISIL gains a foothold in Iraq. I just hope somebody does something before Iraq falls totally back into the hands of extremists.

PO1 Timothy Miller, it's not just you. I think there's another thread here on RallyPoint that touches on this topic. I also firmly believe that we will have to put some boots on the ground to defeat ISIL. I just don't think air strikes and coalition forces will do the job. I'll find that thread and post a link.

Yes.

I don't think the folks in DC believe otherwise. I think they say what they think people want to hear.

I think that there will be a real turnaround in policy after next week. From what I have seen on the news, we are looking at two years of lame-duckness.
